Have been waiting for google's pending update but didn't get any on that. From last two days I have noticed extreme changes in search results for same google domain (like .com or .de or .nl etc.) with different interface language selected (like hl=de or hl=en or hl=nl). When you change the interface language the whole bunch of results are different.
Is this the actual update this time? Enabling the geo centric data which google wanted to implement for better localization? If yes (and if someone else is also seeing this change) then may be we can all identify the parameters of this new change, like language, servers in geographical locations or extensions (.de, .nl etc.)

Yes Steelbank in my industry, before Sept. 22 Amazon was listed 15th-20th and now it's over me, near the top with TWO listings selling books about a subject that visitors are obviously trying to get INFORMATION or PRODUCTS on, NOT to buy a book!
Eg "Are You Looking to Buy Things" "Are You after information" as well as search in the full or regional listings.
There must be far more categouries they could apply and save them the job of applying the filters (and it must be said not always very effectively) in their algos.
I don't usually note which DCs I'm on because I am unaware of any important difference between any of them.
Is it possible to categorize DCs based on something?
Like:
Foreign DCs
USA DCs
DCs used for cache copies only
DC not open to public
etc.
The only one I know to care about is my normal default google.com which is 216.239.37.99
Today is the first time I've seen my site showing on my default DC (above). Maryland, USA

Situation: Finally getting out from under the Feb. 2nd (Allegra) blues. Hopefully this will continue.
have you been actively adding links to your site recently?
On a side note, I am finally seeing good results from creating good sites over the past 3-4 years since I stopped doing crappy spammy affilate junk pages.
Kind of nice to be rewarded with traffic and good search engine results.
No doubt all will change in a few days ;)
Now...if I can just get my artistic writing site back in.....
This DC represent a group of 23 DCs (Update Bacon Polenta DCs ;-) ) and growing out of 45 DCs Iīm watching.
If you can make it there you will make it anywhere ;-)

Good luck to all!
>>Very interesting update. Looks like Google has decided to go with the result set #2 (at least for now) that few believed would be used.<<
Once the folk at the plex decide which way to go, you shall see our fellow member GoogleGuy post a weather report. That hasnīt happened, which means no final decision has been taken yet.
Crush, I think you've hit the nail on the head, that's exactly what I was thinking this morning.
"Looks like Google has decided to go with the result set #2 (at least for now) that few believed would be used."
I had little doubt that #2 would be the one used, that's where I saw the most movement against heavy seo tactics, link farms etc.
When I compare sites that have a very high trustrank, all genuine links, almost all to internal pages of site, to sites that have heavy links to the homepage, there is no movement at all in the serps for high trustranked sites, large drops for the sites with heavy link farm backlinks to the root, homepage.
I'll have to look more closely, but this is pretty much what I've been expecting to see for the last 6 months, especially since this summer's preliminary action on link farms etc.
When I look at the search terms that have dropped, and if I try to be somewhat objective, the pages that have dropped were not in fact the best choices for that search.
Going to be a busy week ahead I think...
