Except on 216.239.37.104, after a few refreshes, I am out for my term on the Jagger 3(?) DCs?
Am I alone with this problem?

Kangol - I'm only following a few terms but see little change across the datacenters and since Jagger 1. I think changes are very sensitive to the query and people often get too excited about this, thinking it's a fundamental change when in fact it's minor. I do think Jagger 3 is now in progress but will only affect a small number of sites.

What do you get with site:yoursite.com at the diff datacenters?

66.102.9.99 has changed very recently to give an updated version of jagger2 serps.

Was 66.102.9.99 was where the last two jaggers started?

It's the one to keep your eye on in my opinion :)

Seeing some serps that appeared on 66.102.9.104 showing up on google.com via 216.239.97.99.

WEIRD thing is that I am seeing some double listing for sites but the are NOT indented. These listing appear on the first page, with a seting of 10 listings per page.

I can't remember when I saw this last.

Not all searches match 66.102.9.104, but a group does, and they are significant changes outside of the normal variation.

Time to go back and do real work.

Don't think for a moment Google are just sitting back waiting for things to happen - they'll be as busy as beavers for this update. Programmers, implementors, system testers, tweaking data, algos, having update meetings, pouring over analysis, preparing reports, giving presentations... Google guy's probably asking every hour what (if anything) he can tell the masses. The lot of them are probably sweating buckets. I know, I've been there in a previous life (albeit on a much smaller scale). When you're a billion dollar company and your basic commodity is serps then any update's gotta give you the shivers. Then again, I could be wrong, they might just be down the pub...

Results at 216.239.37.104 changed. The old results from that DC are here now: [66.102.9.104......] Those are the final results I have my money on.

<edit- well, if they'd stay put>

I am reminded of an ancient chinese proverb: 'Visiting monks give better sermons'. In other words, people always value opinions coming from sources other than their fellows. Enter brother GG!

Good luck all... I am off to bed to meditate!

I agree that 66.102.9.99 is heading to be the leading DC

How wonderful to see the rise and rise of junk sites, whose only purpose is adsense.

In some searches I am seeing seo'd junk adsense sites taking up half of the top 10.

I have written to Yahoo and MSN to advise the best way I reckon for them to take on Google is to make a public statement that due to the liklihood that sites carrying adsense are in fact just junk sites created to milk money from ad paying custoemrs, sites carrying adsense will have their rankings downgraded.

At least then rankings will gained be for content, not for adds.

[66.102.9.9...] Results 1 - 10 of about 75
[216.239.37.104...] Results 1 - 10 of about 77<<<

That means nothing. The numbers within "Results * of * of about *" will also change on each page you select in the same search.

Before Jagger started, my site was 3rd or 4th for my keyword and had been for 24 months. Since then I have been demoted to 17th then 14th, and this morning 278th.
Checked tonight and was back on the first page at 7th position. All my sites PRs have risen by 1 with my index page at 5 now. Just finished my 6th can of beer and in the morning with hangover will not know what to expect. When is this all going to end I ask myself.

It seems that anything with .99 at the end is doing just fine. Check out 66.102.9.99

lee, seeing the same results,

results in UK were better earlier today than the data centre im seeing now imo

looks like a few directory type sites have slipped back in i guess due to the age knob being turned up or something?

Anyway, will see how this settles.

This update overall is certainly an improvement if todays results or something similar stick.

If all the sites that have fallen back return to where they were before the update it will have been a pointless effort updating the SERPS for this next quarter!

Ok according to matt cutts blog this is now in final stage with Jagger 3 going out now. For me its been not a great update but the communication about what was happening and the sense of humour about it was nice to see.

I would be interested to know if some sites were assigned trusted by human review "the infamous trustrank". This would be my only gripe as google have already descovered by the behaviour of other search engines that trusted sites can misbehave just as much as anyone else.

Anyway great forum brett apart from the bloody cats.

66.102.9.99 is currently showing the results that I've personally dubbed Jagger 3. In my sector, these results are different, and better than IMO, pre-Jagger, Jagger 1 and Jagger 2. [66.102.9.104...] is also still showing these results. I got a little burnt out on DC watching today, so I'm not sure where else these results are turning up. These same results have been moving around from DC to DC today.

I gotta second that.

Cheers Dayo_UK, Reseller and everyone else.

Agreed they are better results. The geo targeting I think is playing a large part in this algo and as the google redirecting doesn't work for instance on firefox I think its a bad index and in generall bad set of results as anyone outside of us with a .com got whacked.

I believe the 'I’m off to bed, but Jagger3 is coming along.' post from Matt was from this morning.

mcdar is showing pretty much all consistent results on my end for all datacenters.

Perhaps this is it.

If so, our site did VERY well. Returning to the top 5 for several keyphrases.

Crossing fingers that the ride is over for now.
