The same down-and-on problem here in Turkey.
But j3 goes on and off. No steady results. At least three different sets:
216.239.63.104 (I think with additional tweaks)
64.233.161.104 (still J2)
64.233.179.104 (J3)
Having spent some time decyphering this update and with several real dodgy examples in my research ... I know this is just the beginning and definately not the end as you think.
This update was just to placate the big brands, who Google are targeting in their next promo. They are providing hits to the big guns before xmas to show what great value they can do for free and WOW! what they could do if paid ...
Look out you boys who think your safe ... January is gonna hurt ya.
Well you should as that is what it is. What happened with you is what happens with everybody, and has been for two or more years. You got fresh crawled, but your master cache is till the older one. This is the way it works, and is not a "rollback" in any sense.
Wish you all a great sunny day.
I can see that there is a heavy flux on the DCs. Few look just like the same as yesterday and the rest are dancing.
This situation remind me of the flux that followed Bourbon update. Still many things might happen which looks like an update is going on, but it was no more and no less than a FLUX :-)
It would be very exciting when Matt "Inigo" Cutts or our kind fellow member GoogleGuy call for comments about the "test data center". Maybe already today!
My guess is that Matt was talking about [66.102.9.104...]

P.S. I might put out a call for comments on that test data center sometime this week.

Lets wait and see ;-)
I've excepted my old site is dead in the water on G due mainly to link exchanges I've been doing over years and years of development and link exchanging and as this update is all about hitting the spammers (me) because I exchanged links then yes I know there is little that I can do than just except it and try and rebuild with my old sites.

Thanks. I can comfort myself slightly knowing that we rank even better than before on MSN and Yahoo and we now have three stores on Froogle, but we don't get much traffic from them anyway. I did build a new site for one department from my store which is nice and solid in G but 'sandboxed', so I can only keep trying, but we need money now - I am the only breadwinner in the village. :)
I'm in a panic cos we just had to register for VAT due to a succesful spring, and now this - maybe I can deregister again!
Hmm..if their sites are better than mine, how come I rank above them for so many kw's for allinanchor/title/text?
It looks like a penalty, but how can I guess what it is G finds offensive about my site? I don't even have any dodgy reciprocal links, since I've only ever wanted to exchange links with relevant sites!
All companies make errors. I've worked for billion dollar companies and I've seen errors go live. One particular company had to cancel their January sale due to an overflow error in an array! IMO google have struggled technically with this update.
Fully agree...and the bigger the company is - the bigger is the error. If I would start ... I could tell ya tales of millions which have been flushed down the toilet. What I have learned so far: if you flush millions - do it with a smile and get a backup from an external consultant. :-))
Sorry for being off topic...

What type of partial fix did you see? - It happened at my nightime or I was offline - I remember in the thread people saying it is here and then gone again - when I was offline.
So what did you see?
Less Supplementals? Less Canonical Url Problems?
If you are getting that much traffic today from Google - what is the problem?
Also - anyone else.
What is Googlebot activity like for your site at the moment (Exclude Mozilla Googlebot)? Not much activity at this end - just seems to be scratching the surface.
>>If these results are it, I will have to close the business and get a proper job (if I can find one - the whole reason I started this shop is because I couldn't get any sort of job which paid enough to live - I was on government benefits). <<
Friend! Sorry to read those sad words. But never lose hope. Things might still change, and hopefully for better results for your site.
Cheers,
