The same down-and-on problem here in Turkey.
But j3 goes on and off. No steady results. At least three different sets:

216.239.63.104 (I think with additional tweaks)
64.233.161.104 (still J2)
64.233.179.104 (J3)

Can someone help me? Do you think having too many outgoing links on pages called link1, link2 etc has caused my nosedive from position 15 to 85!

Thanks!

If someone links to non-www then you can counteract that by using a 301 redirect from non-www to www for every page of the site.

The <base> tag is also useful.

If you use absolute linking: <base href="http://www.domain.com/"> on every page.

If you use relative linking: <base href="http://www.domain.com/this.page.html"> on every page, with the base URL being the full URL of the page that the base tag is on.

Although the human race might have moved to Mars before Google actually gives up on the old url (eg the non-www). Even if the 301 is picked up Google, just like supplimentals, can add it back in.

Pathetic really - you would think that Google may have noticed the problem by now :/

Although I am curious to see this test DC when it finally comes online.

Kangs>>

The recommendation is to put a maximum of 100 links on any given page. I use a max of 50 and I have no problems, but then I only have 2 pages with outbound links to external websites :-)
Both link pages have PR4 on them.

Thanks for the suggestions. Should I rename the pages from 'link' to something else?

Dayo I strongly believe Google runs his last days on Earth.

Reseller - your post-Jagger thread (forum30) seems to have died on November 26! Was hoping there'd be more feedback/observations in there, but I guess DC-watching has consumed everyone ;(

Just a reminder then -- if anyone has anything to share concerning effective/ineffective steps they've taken to recover serps, please be kind enough to post here:

That's my reseller PR efforts over for today -- time for a cappuccino of the Italian variety ;)

A glass of Molinari, a Lavazza espresso doppio and a nice Partaga D4 would be perfect ;)

Oops, I lost myself for a moment there. That was before Jagger came along, so I guess it's back to Nescafe and a Marlboro Light ;((

Okay, time to get serious again. Suddenly I am back to where I was before jagger came along. Like I was sandboxed again and my pr is exactly the way it was before the last update. It's like the shower scene from "Dallas"...it was all a dream?

It could be a general backlink update and we might see soon a PR update too.

I expect more things to happen on the test DC :-)
