reseller, Jagger3 ended up having less emphasis on canonicals. I plan to make that a theme in my feedback to people at work though.

AlexK, that's a different domain. But the point is very well taken. You've found a pretty obscure query (~295 results) that the keyword stuffing spammers like to target. I'll check this out in more detail.

Woke up this morning to SERPS that looked pretty much like the SERPS before the update. Makes sense that there wouldn't be many drastic changes in rankings when it's all said and done.

I vote for Jagger 4.
Jagger 3 till now is not good enought, good resulst were till yesterday on 66.102.9.104.
Good sites are listed, many good sites (my site :-))))are nowhere. There is some filter that does not like my white hat site and many others.
GG please push the red button and swith this filter off.

He posted what was happening. Some folks just refuse to believe it, for some reason.

I guess we could always try the Google Search Appliance advertised on the Google Blog!

The other thing some folks seem to be ignoring is that the partial fix applied to to the Jagger3 results resulted in an awful lot of lost sites returning to their approximate proper rankings. The incomplete results there before the fix were never anything to pay much attention to. If the top serps now have 20% more sites ranking properly, and presumably the linking from them factored somewhat diferently, you are going to see changes.

GoogleGuy mentioned "First order effect" and "Second order effect". From a mathematical equation standpoint (i.e. algo), the "first order effect" is the dominant factor, while the second order effect is more of a "tuning" factor.

He mentioned to think in terms of "9" being the "first order" and "7" was the second order. Well, in an equation, these two get some mathematical operation done to each of the terms (added, subtracted, etc) or blended.

I believe what we are seeing is the "tuning" effect across all the DC's, to be followed by the dominant effect at some point, which will be close to the end results that G is looking for.

We saw the "first order effect" (i.e.end results) on "9" last Friday, and my bet is that we'll see something close to "9" within the next few days.

Did everyone forget that these stages are taking roughly a week to complete? Give it till Friday before doing anything drastic.

I'm seeing SERPs that look like J3 again, too.

216.239.37.104 - has joined the previous J3s......

Hmmmz (not the J3 I like when more sites seemed to be in better order rank - but the J3 which has lasted the longers - really good J3 was only for a few hours)

WW-Watcher.

I was determined not to check this thread more twice today! Your simple post about how we are seeing J3 on those data centers has given me hope!

Now...I....pull....myself....away...again!

Last weekend there was one nagging instance of domain.com on a site if I did the site: domain command. It's gone now AND the way the pages are ordered is not perfect but the pages are for the most part grouped together very nicely.

The 9 has not spread to those DC's yet.

As far as I can, it's still self contained within 4 blocks.

The complaints should get epidemic today as things are getting lost now on all the datacenters regardless of how "blended" they are. Unless there is a final blend consistent later today, likely there will be a lot more movement over the next days.

LOL, 66.102.9.104 is throwing up some ludicrous stuff right now as it fluxes... for one search I have a page ranking sixth that is at best my 50th most relevant page for that search, and the indented result in seventh is about my 20th most relevant page for the search. Too weird.

Ok. So Jagger3 is back on 66.102.9.104 and maybe on few other DCs. I guess the dog didn't like the test of J3 and it had to spit it out again :-)

But we have still more days to come, and that nasty dog might change its mind and eat J3 again. Who knows :-)

How long will it take untill Jagger 3 is spread all over the DCs and is visible to the public throughout the world?

If't it's spreading now, do you think GG or Matt may do another update?

the 66.102.9.104 - is back to what it was on saturday. no blending in these SERPs in my area.
66.102.7.104 is back to its original SERPs too.

I doubt in the format you are seeing on the DCs at the moment it ever will.

Remember blending is what is likely to happen.....

I see J3.9 on the following:
66.102.9.99
66.102.9.104
66.102.11.99
66.102.11.104

That macdar tool also thinks it's on:
64.233.167.104
216.239.37.99
216.239.37.104
216.239.37.105

However on manual inspection it appears not!

Is that macdar tool accurate?

I mentioned this morning that my site was on page 2 & 3 on 7 & 9 but has now dropped to page 30-40 on various terms.

Is this to be expected in this "flux" or should I be getting worried!
