Welcome to WebmasterWorld Guest from 220.127.116.11
Have been waiting for google's pending update but didn't get any on that. From last two days I have noticed extreme changes in search results for same google domain (like .com or .de or .nl etc.) with different interface language selected (like hl=de or hl=en or hl=nl). When you change the interface language the whole bunch of results are different.
Is this the actual update this time? Enabling the geo centric data which google wanted to implement for better localization? If yes (and if someone else is also seeing this change) then may be we can all identify the parameters of this new change, like language, servers in geographical locations or extensions (.de, .nl etc.)
>>The changes which people keep talking about are changes in SERPs which are not directly related to an update, although when an update happens SERPs also change.<<
But you forgot to mention how do you identify an update (algo changes) when it takes place ;-)
Spring (IE Hope and maybe new life breathed into site) ;)<<
If you keep on saying that, the engineers will kill it at once.
Better to post that 18.104.22.168 has the worst serps you have ever seen. Then they shall keep it for sure ;-)
>>For me it has been ground hog day every day since Feb 2.<<
2nd-3rd Feb. was a sad day for my site too. Recovered gradually since. Got another killing hit on 22nd July. At present recovering gradually again.
BTW, have you since filed a reinclusion request?
On the other Datacenters there are still suplemental results until February 2004.
My project has old Duplicate Content, non-www problem etc.! On 22.214.171.124 these URLs are gone and ->
No filter anymore!
I do see them slightly older than that date - not back to Feb 04 though
Armi - when did you correct your non-www old duplicate content probs.
Did not correct mine until March - so perhaps lots of supplementals need to go for me until I see improvements.
Blimey - hopefully if G are reading this they will understand that the supplementals are causing problems.
I dont want to wait until October next year! - A good crawl would be nice too - Armi - did you get a good crawl recently too?
Does anyone know who these dc's are serving? I know they are live somewhere in the world. We are getting new refs. I think one of them is for the Santa Clara area.
Strangely, the new (old) results are on all of these except 126.96.36.199 which does not have them for me
188.8.131.52 is different from 66.102.7.** and 184.108.40.206 results. The latter 2 Dcs show such SERPs, that I shudder to think may eventually hold.

gone as in totally deleted from Google, or gone down on SERPS?
The 220.127.116.11 type results have been showing consistently for me on google.com since last night (I'm in California). I hope it sticks.
I still see all my bad supplemental pages including a phantom dup of my homepage and a canonical problem with it too...
But the homepage and several other pages are ranking well - seems like they turned off one of the penalty switches on those DCs. With my luck it was by accident and some freckle-faced kid will be brought into the office for a tongue lashing in a few minutes.

This is pretty, pretty good.
It was pretty bad when I had to pay to a "farm" directory $100 plus per year for an enhanced listing. These directory guys were getting pretty rich for doing nothing.
Well, directory guys, I hope your easy life ends soon. In the meantime, do something useful, get a copy of the book "Who moved my cheese?".
