March was one heck of a roller coaster ride for me and many others, let's hope they've ironed out whatever it is they've been attempting to do!

Sorry Play_Bach - once upon a time, we were the most generous, charitable and gregarious bunch of characters you could hope to find on the net, but Adsense has turned us into Scrooges - we are mean and grumpy... Bah humbug!

Play_Bach wanted me to let you know the air guitar's neck is broken, so he's sending it back. You shouldn't have been so rough testing it.
:)

I was doing my Steve Hillage "Searching for The Spark" solo. Sorry. ;)

it cannot possibly get any worse since the next level is zero.

yep. Daily earnings as low as when I started with Adsense in ...when was it... when they started... what year was that?

Rebounding from yesterday being my worst day since New Year's Eve, today's already my best day in 6 weeks with still 6+ hours to go. Things have NEVER been so inconsistent.

I've been adding new content regularly for nearly 5 years so I expected these wild oscillations would have smoothed out by now. Goes to show you (puts on robe), "No one expects the Adsense Oscillations!"

Today looks to be my worst day ever, most likely.

Adsense Oscillations

Arrr...tis the beast from yonder Google-land. Fickle beast I telleth thee... it giveth and it taketh away... it teases thee with beautiful figures then chews them up from thine stats and spits zeroes in thine face...

Best day of the year for earnings here -- mainly due to highest CPC in one day ever (I think). I haven't done anything different. Maybe it's just one of those random days where everything goes well. I had one very poor day this week too, so things average out, I guess.

Before today the month overall was looking to be quite a bit below average -- now it's still below average, but only by a small amount.

Wonder if Google has a software twiddler of the year contest? ;) Not even the Spanish Inquisition could understand Adsense.

Just noticed that google is now doing interest based ads in their search results. This is new, at least the first I saw it.

Funny that some of you are noticing an increase in CPC. Mine has been deflated for six weeks, and occasionally jumps only to sink back down to this fixed deflated level. Today however, when it jumped up, it's stayed. Not an amazing number of clicks, but reasonable, and back to normal earnings. Just hope it lasts. Really makes you wonder what's going on behind the scenes with Google.

4th worst day of 2012, that probably makes it my 7th worst day ever and from the worst 5 days of 2012 four have been since 1st April.

EPC also at 76% of 2012, CTR = 2012 average!

Earnings for April 1-15 2012 v 2011 are 29.8%, completely and utterly fubard.

Something was twiddled at the end of March and has completely screwed-over many of us.

agree. They twiddled the "screw-over random publishers" switch.

CPC has shot up again just like yesterday. It really seemed they twiddled something big time at the start of this month. Is it possible some accounts are now recovering, whilst others are stuck in limbo?

Clicks haven't moved in hours for me here, and I started off brightly, by 2012 standards.

How the heck to we get from AdSenseland to Limboland without even getting on a plane?

Did someone move the borders, were we hijacked or teleported there?

"These questionsóand many othersówill be answered in the next episode of...Nightmare On AdSense Street"! :-)

@HuskyPup Wonder if Billy Crystal will explain it all with a good joke? :) (ObRef to TV sitcom Soap?)

I get the feeling at times that AdSense will end up like Soap and end up being cancelled owing to declining ratings!

And just like Soap we'll all be left wondering about the unresolved cliffhangers about what the heck has happened with the programme.

The question has to be why's netmeg not even glowing yet many of us are perspiring our nuts off for absolutely nothing and have no idea why?

In fact I'm probably a horse now...and sweating!

I *think* maybe because she runs a lot more sites than most of us do and across many more niches. 250 sites is the number that comes to mind (please correct me netmeg if I'm wrong on this!)

I oversee that many sites, but most of them are client sites and don't have AdSense. My own sites... umm more than ten and less than a hundred.

But there's six that provide 70% of the income.

Blooming heck, I'm getting some clicks however my EPC has now halved therefore it's like treading water and getting nowhere, it'll not be long before it sinks altogether...quite simply it feels like, and is, a massive failure by Google this month.

I think I'm off to The Plex to grab hold of someone's nuts and see how much it hurts them!

Not quite noon here. I'll be heading off to the pub soon to forget about AdSense over a pint (or three). Ridiculous.

What country do those clicks come from HuskyPup?

Not doing as well as yesterday, but not nearly as bad as previously this month. There's a small glimmer of hope.

Things are looking better today. I went into "blocked ads" and was surprised to see just how many I'd blocked over time. Many were on target (so why I'd blocked them is beyond me). I then unblocked about 100+ ads. Now today things are looking up. Coincidence? Maybe. I will see how the week goes.

The month started quite badly (about 40% down from my averages)
Then after Easter I started rebouncing and had my 3 best days of 2012.
Now my average per day for April is just ~1% lower than March and if I continue at the same pace it will probably surpass it. (Although I removed adsense from one of my sites that was generating about 10% of my adsense income)

The majority of my adsense earnings come from a single site that gets 90% of its traffic from USA and Canada and about an equal percentage from search engines. This site is the main reason of the rebound.

Earnings from other sites that get traffic from more diversified sources and locations are down overall.

Although I am still doing good with adsense I started looking at other advertising networks and mostly affiliate programs. For the site I mentioned that I removed adsense I just added a couple of affiliate programs. The site looks better than ever, I get more pageviews per visitor and my earnings from that site increased almost 300%
