On the Adsense forum there are several discussions going now about "Traffic Quality" with Google Engineer Guillaume at the microphone.

Although the cases discussed are quite sad in terms of loss of revenue, it sheds some light on the new Adsense.

Very odd behavior. On my biggest earning site I am only at about 30% of my usual CTR but on other sites I am at my usual CTR. I wonder if some of the larger earning clicks are going through extra review before posting (hopefully but doubtful). Either that, or I just had very poorly matching ads showing today.

I just read through those posts on the Google Groups Adsense forum. WOW. Thanks for sharing the links. I hope Google's algorithm is accurate in determining fraudulent clicks. I would imagine that is one of the most difficult and yet most important aspects in keeping the program's value.

Clicks and page views back up to something vaguely normal, but CPC pathetic. Another bad day.

Best earnings day since Feb 7 (about 80% of average). Hope this is some kind of turning point as 2012 AdSense so far has been a disaster. Thanks Google!

Anyone else notice that text ads are turning into image ads after a couple of seconds... I'm still using the old ad code... could that have anything to do with my poor results this month...

I've gone to text only ads for a while to see if this makes a difference. However the last few days were absolutely dire in terms of earnings.

Back from the Adsense black-out - below average CTR & CPC with still increasing traffic.

I think some of my advertisers must have woken up from their slumber on Tuesday, impressions, clicks and CTR were my new norm however EPC jumped by 143.5%...no specific country, just an across the board increase.

I wonder if it will stick?

I never did get a click dump yesterday and very low clicks here again today. I had one "super click" earlier today but otherwise very little activity. Impressions look normal with pretty typical search terms.

Clicks aren't terrible, but another poor CPC day.

My clicks have been stuck ALL DAY while impressions climb. My CTR is almost zero, and CPC is almost the same.

Right now, things are borked but Google still keeps downloading about 350K pages of content a day on the main site. Real traffic is slow enough and it looks like something is seriously wrong with Adsense.

The sad thing is that the people in Adsense (and Google) probably think that they are doing a good job.

Below average day - traffic goes up, CTR is down.

The relevant ads are probably shown on totally off-topic sites - chasing visitors cross-sites based on user interest.

So uhmmmmmm suppose the sites that content-match the better paying ads are fenced off now for specifically these ads ......what would that mean?

According to my reports from 6:30am (GMT) until 8am, I didn't get any clicks. I know there are quiet peaks and busy peaks, but I always get some clicks within an hour, so something isn't right here. Whether the estimate will change, or they'll be added onto today, I don't know, but I doubt it.

big clicks, but sadly very few of them. Some of my sites are experiencing average weekly ctr below 0,3 :(

0.5 - 1 % is now considered as a good CTR?
