The same down-and-on problem here in Turkey.
But j3 goes on and off. No steady results. At least three different sets:

216.239.63.104 (I think with additional tweaks)
64.233.161.104 (still J2)
64.233.179.104 (J3)

Yahoo. What a wild ride! Our traffic patterns are eratic as the devil. Pages are ranked well one hour and the next they disappear.

The flux is fluxing, or the testers are testing or the surfers are nuts. Or maybe a combination.

But this is some ride. Go Google Go! What will you bring us next hour?

Rollback is more likely as this has been happening on and off on some dcs for a while - the figures you breifly saw - same as old figures?

Hmmmmmmmz - my Homepage is postioned 552 on the test DC (that is an improvement btw - lol) - but as I said yesterday and the day before and the day before etc the Homepage does not appear to be the most powerful page/root of the site.

I dont know if a supplimental clean up or the homepage reputation improving will result in this being corrected.

Hopefully:

- better search quality

- less supplementals

- less canonicals

- less spam

Amen!

Dayo - have you tried searching on: site:www.google.co.uk - the google homepage comes in second.

Dayo_UK

2:58 pm on Dec 7, 2005 (gmt 0)

Hmmmz - that is a bit strange for Google UK.

The homepage is top on these searches though:-

site:www.google.co.uk www.google.co.uk

and here all is as it should be:-

In fact I have Google traffic already, though it could be better ;-)

And talking about traffic, special thanks to Mr. Bill Gates and MSN who have been very generous recently :-)

But I'm also thinking of fellow members who have been suffering of canonicals and supplemetals issues and those whos sites have been affected by scrapers. Friends in the same situations as Tigger, Dayo and steveb deserve traffic too, you know.

Folks!

I think Inigo is a very bright person!

And I know now why he has't asked us yet for feedback regarding the Test-DC [64.233.179.104...]

Can you guess why?

Because we have already been doing that on this thread!

On behalf of my friend Inigo, I wish to thank you folks for your co-operation and excellent feedback. Much appreciated :-)

that DC definately seems to be getting much more positive feedback from people...will it stay though? and if it does stay, how long until it is rolled out?

one thing i have noticed though is that DC hasn't got any of my old pages and the cache is a bit older than the main google - is this a sign that things will still be changing?

As far as I can see, they have applied a filter on the test DC!

try to run your query without a filter too.

Resseller Just a quick question please don't take offense. But when is you MC a$$ kissing going to stop.. I like to come here to read the threads and not have to read $hit like this. If you haven't figured it our whenever a so called weather report is given it is old news.

Omitted Results?

If that is, just hit "repeat the search with the omitted results included" or add "&filter=0" at the end of your search string.

that datacenter is what I have been seeing as the results on a normal google dot com query - and an amazing increase in the number of pages - one keyword alone has over 500 million more result pages

64.233.179.104
it is showing pages that do not exist again.
the SERPs we have now do not have that.
it is a step backwards in my opinion.

[66.102.9.104...] is still looking like the one to watch. My supplementals are almost all removed after I recently updated my robots.txt etc. making it look like the most up-to-date index. I think 64.233.179.104 is just out there while the real index is readied because it has all the old, stale pages.

64.233.179.104 - looks very promising to me.

Google.com has listed only the homepage of a new site I lauched three weeks ago, . The homepage is listed at #34 (yesterday 50+) out of 12+ million results from the theme key words of the site.

On the mentioned DC:

- 30+ pages & homepage fully listed.
- Home page +more results listed at #4 out of 32+ million results for the theme key words.
- There is no change at #1, 2 & 3 positions.

[64.233.179.104...] seems to be definetely the one to watch I think, I am actually very happy with these results, not that they are perfect but at least most SERP are legitimate AND HUGE INCREASE OF INDEX SIZE :-O

Current count: almost 25,000,000,000 pages! wowowowowo!

BTW I have 64.233.179.104 live on my default google.com now.

followgreg - someone said this earlier but i couldn't see it...

again, when i ping google.com i get 64.233.187.99 which shows the serps that have been displayed for the past few weeks - nothing like those on the test DC (altough I WISH I could see them change as they are MUCH MUCH better)

An explanation please: my site, a paltry 6-pager but my livelihood (portal for my potential clients), went from page 1 results (for years) to missing altogether for Bourbon. I optimized, corrected errors, etc., and a few months later, I was back on page 1. I did not touch the site thereafter (out of fear), but on 12/01, the site disappeared again. For a search term that I was #1 previously, I am now on page 15 (and a secondary page 1st with main page indented beneath it, the one optimized for the term). I must admit I am confused (no web meister here). I understand if results change, but p1 to p15? I am hoping this is a glitch related to the last update, but alas, I can't contact G to find out (I really wish they would get real folks to answer?'s). Anyway, suggestions? or am I to cross my fingers and hope?
