Zikos your just guessing thats what he does. And hes been flamed for his minds thoughts already.

I concentrate on the tourist arena and if I had all the material and pics, I could push out 4, 5 page bed and breakfast sites easily in a week.

"it seems like recp links are dead in the water,"
In the contrary my friend interlinked networks are kings ,I have made a tone of spam reports about those interlinkfarming nets at Google spam report ,but nothing happened. They dominate everywhere.

" I could push out 4, 5 page bed and breakfast sites easily in a week. "
Right ,but to do that originally you must spend 2 weeks time and a river of cash to go door to door at any bed and breakfast from Lands End up to the High Lands........

yes, this to me has been the big shocker. At one time Google was really on top of the networked sites. This time around networks are doing very nicely thank you.

I could push out 4, 5 page bed and breakfast sites easily in a week.

the fact that you havent i would assume means youve decided that would be spamming.

Good Morning folks,

Well, it was good whilst it lasted! Two days ago, my stats went up 7x the norm on Google traffic. Yesterday, it dropped to 3x, and today its back to where it started , before the increase.

So, I guess they've wound back somewhere. It'll be interesting to see where we go from here :-)

By the way, I'm not whining, just commenting...lol!

>>However, at this stage of Jagger update we might need to ask ourselves; how come that an update which has started for around a month ago hasn't migrated completely to other DCs?>>>

Lets take exactly the facts sent to us and stop reading the rest of the rubbish in between.

GG said, Jagger 3 is sitting at *9*. Once its is stable it will migrate across to all DC's.

Honestly there is nothing more that anyone can add to this or take away. Its now just a wait for all of us.

Perhaps we should start talking about what we see at *9* . Ill kick things off with a huge difference seen in plural and singular keywords/phrases..anyone else?

I have seen quite the contrary. Singular keywords and plural keywords are hitting on the same cylinders at the moment. 's on the end of any keyword is bring the same result sets up.

I still want to see Brett Tabke's 26 steps to Jagger3 success! :>

In fact its exactly what I'm doing. GG said that Jagger3 would be migrating to other DCs this week! which hasn't happened yet.

What you see at present at *9* isn't Jagger3 anymore. Jagger3 was supposed to deal with canonical- and supplemental issues as well, which isn't the case.

So we ended now at *9* with something strange which as we say here in Denmark; neither a bird nor a fish :-)

Reseller>>> I agree,, Okay its now a case of where GG should really step in... he has some explaining to do. Early next week has now come and gone.

Reseller - GG played down that fix long before the supposed Jagger3 hit the *9*.

We are all keeping our fingers, toes and everything else crossed Zikos.
The serps are still up and down for me from different data centres still.

Zikos, I hope you are right. I will be leaving my window open tonight hoping for the Pink Panther's visit :-}

My serps so far down, I am doing well in Australia...

Well I dont know whether it will be new results - but I would guess that by Monday all of the DCs will be J3 - weekend would be a good time to do it.

Googlebot

Why dont you crawl my homepage? you seem to be happy to crawl internal pages?

We have a site that Google only crawls internal pages. No cache on home page since October. Any thoughts?

I dont know what to think anymore about the situation.

Google dont provide any feedback - either here, at MC blog, or by email.

It is just crazy.

Foolgold.

I wouldn't worry about it, our site is a PR5 and only gets crawled once a month, some of the top ten sites have dates as far back as the beggining of October.

Dayo,

Correct.

but google are watching the forums all the time and getting feedback from us, this is how they are getting information to change the serps from this wide open forum.
Googleguy isn't daft!

I dont know bekyed Google cleary has a problem with my homepage.

If we are assuming that J3 at least is ordering site:domain.com searches - the sites I see with problems dont have their homepages at the top.

As far as I am concern Google does not treat my homepage as my root page.

I always assumed the problems started when G index the non-www homepage.

Interesting, my site also doesn't list its homepage at the top for site:domain.com searches and, like Dayo, we have been hit bady by this update.

Is there anyone else out there who sees this too? Perhaps we can find a common link between all those whose serps have dropped.

Dayo_UK

>>>Googleguy isn't daft!

No and neither are we.

We can tell something is not right.

Google has not treated my homepage and other sites I have looked at homepages as the root for ages.

Not 100% sure what it is due to - eg Canonical, Supplementals, 302 hijacks etc.

I have always suspected Canonical as GG (when he was able to talk more freely) has said that confusion in this area could cause that problem.

Dayo_UK - I still think you have had a case of other sites made a 302 link to you which google then thought was another copy of your site and those 302s are still cached in the google index then you get filtered for dublication, also notice that you still see caches from 2004 so 302 from that time is still in there index.

zikos

Dayo_UK
Canonical is the biggest problem of G i recon. And the problem started 2 years ago(Hmm.. by the same time adsense started and scrapers MFA start spreading like cancer)

Not sure - it is obv. hard to know for exact why sites go like this.

On a related(ish) note - did you see this round up of Matts Coffee talk:-

[seroundtable.com...]

(OK mods - this link was posted in the officail Las Vegas thread and has survived so allowed?)

Anyway - the most intresting point regarding the supplemental/301/302 etc question was that Matt said they are testing on a datacentre - hmmmz wonder if it was the [64.233.179.99...] results we saw for a little while a week or so ago.

zikos

I think it has been a problem longer - the scrapers, malicious 302 linkers etc have made it more pronounced.

I think they did test something related to supplemental results for a short while on [64.233.179.99...]

I think it has been a problem longer - the scrapers, malicious 302 linkers etc have made it more pronounced.

A non technical friend of mine did in the past all his redirects via meta refresh, no intent of doing anything harmful, black hat etc , just that was what he knew. I think G's main hurdle will always be to seperate the truly ignorant from the malicious. :\

G's task is truly near impossible imo .. How do you seperate human intent with an algorithm? Maybe bayesian might be a partial answer, but ultimately the fairest solution should be, if you know what you do with a webserver and HTML you should be high in the ranking. Then effort and knowledge would equal success.
