Google now shows on their main index the new update and new algo.

I thought Google where going to add more back links but they no.

The number of backlinks on one of my sites have dropped by 50%

I hope this posting is acceptable

just checked the datacenters again. -EX is back to where it was days ago. The only datacenters holding consistent are sj and fi - all the more reason to say no update

A quick check of www-ex shows the old index for me.

Same here, now. But SJ did go to EX for about 2 minutes.

I have a 3 month old PR2 site, although I have a few backlinks, they havnt been indexed yet, at least I hope thats why they dont show up. So the only thing I can go off is the number of pages that i have indexed.

This is what I'm seeing in UK

www 66 pages
-sj 164 pages
-fi 173 pages
and
.co.uk 173 pages?

My best keyphrase shows in the SERPS as

www Page 3
-sj Page 1 #4
-fi Page 1 #3
and
.co.uk Page 1 #3

I dont know where .co.uk fits in to the bigger picture regarding datacentres, but it appears to me that .co.uk is getting its SERPS from -fi.

Not sure if this is relevent. excuse me if it isn't.

Still no update. I think Google is waiting until it sees at least 2000 false reports on WW about updating before it actually decides to update. :)
I am looking forward to seeing the real update then I can start panicing if things are really as messed up as people are perdicting.

Hi all,

A bit off topic, but I'm posting this to bring this thread on top of the list. With the date issue we had yesterday, it is hidden on second page... behind part6 and part7.
Hoping this trick will do it.

www & www.co.uk have changed a lot of times recently however some of the changes are holding and some are going. By the looks of it some results are being updated into the old index bit by bit.

Sort of a weeding out of the garbage. (I think)

Still have not seen anything over the last 12-13 hours that we have not been seeing for the last 7-8 days.

netnerd - can what you are seeing be put down to everflux? or something more significant? - changes in the serps happens all the time - if someone suddenly says I am seeing 617K Yahoo backlinks in www then it may start to get interesting.

Hi,

I noticed the that the severs www2.google.com and www3.google.com have updated the site but when is the actual live google going to be updated. the other google servers were updated on the 5th of this month.

i think this is a bit unusal cos normally google update their other severs and then update the main site itself very soon (i think)

Nobody who knows is telling. However, -sj and -fi are so botched personally I don't mind however long it takes for Google to get it right before they update.

ncsuk:-

I have seen no evidence of that happening. Occasionally .co.uk or .com will DNS to -sj or -fi.

But I think what you're saying is you think the -sj/-fi data is being slowing introduced into the other datacentres?

What have you seen to make you think that? Like I say, there's no evidence of it happening.

Are you checking the indexes by IP addy? That's the only accurate way to do it.

One of my new sites which I only bought the domain 3 weeks ago is listed in all its glory on sj & fi.

Now this is the interesting bit. Although Google will not admit to it that the pages are in the www index they are. I know you are going to say "freshbot" listings but its not that at all. Pages are being added which freshbot has not spidered and there are newer pages being introduced everyday.

I've been pouring over my logs and it looks to me like pages are being validated and included although I maybe wrong. Just looks as if its happening that way to me. I cant be sure and I dont want anyone to quote me on that but I have a funny feeling and I dont know why.

What are the bot IP addys?

Just for the record, Googleguy, if you're watching...

Not all of us are so unhappy with the sj/fi results. And not all of us who feel that way are spammers.

What would really be cool is SOME action at all SOMEWHERE! People are seeing ghosts and it's becomming ridiculous. Please do SOMETHING!

This update has ones again skiped alot of internal back links pointing to a site, they have done that for the last 3 month, but this time they split the remaining in half.

Mostly we see the new result shift to the real www and back again after 2-3 days, but no this time.

I am not seeing any loss of back links in comparison to last month for the sites I monitor. Nor is the update on WWW yet in the UK, so it may well begin switching back and forth very soon, as usual. I don't think that the dance (i.e. switching) has begun in earnest yet.

WWW is now showing -fi results in the uk.

No it isn't.

Try a search on here for "google DNS". www will occasionally show results from *all* of the datacentres. The fact that three or four of them are out of kilter is what causes this anomoly. www has *not* changed index.

I agree.

Looking at the other datacentres (actually I only bothered with www2 and www3 but I think they're the same as -sj/-fi?) I see that yahoo's backlinks are now up to 617,000, whereas they were on 200,000 odd a week or so ago.

I believe (as someone else posted on the original thread for Dominic) that google will dance (if it's going to) when this figure gets close to the current index figure (say >650,000).

At the moment it is quite clear that not all backlinks etc are factored in.

I do think that Yahoo! will make a useful benchmark. I'd say it'll happen in the next week or so.

There are some 21x. ones as well so I dunno what is going on...!

Bearing in mind this site went live on the 11th of april and was spidered the same day (and listed the same day) due to a link from another one of my sites which is PR 5.

*By the way if any moderator wants that list trimming ill do it no problem just thought a larger amount of the logs would be of more use so people can analyse them better....
