In my opinion it would be nice if those were the last days for google PR. Time to start something new, google had enough. They were ment to make the net better, and they did so at the beginning but now it's all getting worse.

Yeah no kidding Conor, but you can't ignore the fact that there are 22 pages of people complaining about PR being gone and wishing it comes back soon...these are the cats that are not on top of their game...

Yeah there are a few people on here that dont care...those are the ones that know how to bring the positive ROI you speak of regrdless of some little green bar.

whos complaining I hope its gone forever .

It forces webmasters to do less thinking and more trusting of a stupid green bar.

I had blogs with a update show PR5 and had not even 100 visitors a day.

Next I had a website with PR5 and have 30,000 visitors a month. Now its about 60 percent less now google delisted it. But still its better if we are all on the same page and not playing favorites otherwise the risk to bad publicity will do more than get their Pee pee slapped.

Everybody who's serious in seo looks at pagerank . Anybody who doesn't lies or doesn't knwo what there talking about. There are ways to overcome this problem but this means more work for serious seo professionals.

although i have posted in this thread i don't believe i have complained, but none the less, that is a bit of a generalisation isn't it, i mean it all boils down to a matter of "educated" opinion doesn't it? i know the value of PR, but still to see my sites with pr7's and pr8's tells me i'm doing well, why? because i know those high pr's indicate the level of linking to my sites, i don't buy or request links. That tells me that people think my content is worth linking to.

I think that using the toorbar exclusivly to gauge a link is not on. But it is always good to take a peek that you are not linking to a bad neigbourhood.

yeah but not too long :D

Link request emails have been nice and quiet this weekend :) Could be the holiday, but I like to hope it is because the GPR is gone... even if just for a moment.

I think PR is one of the great things in Google’s history.

It has benefited and served the net well. It is one more tool to help nullify spammers, fraudsters and liars - people who seem to have been naturally drawn to the net's anonymity.

I am one who certainly does not mindlessly applaud Google for everything they do. But in this case I say "bring back the green bar".

I look forward to its return!
