I am seeing no backlinks for yahoo or dmoz on www2 or www3, also serps are changing. Is this it?

The number of backlinks of my site hasn't changed but there are a lot of new sites crawled and in the the update.

All the sites that I have access to here are all deep crawl by the freshbot 64.* don't know why.

The other one came and grab index page once awhile.

My own very new site was deepcrawl by the freshbot for sure. Never by the regular 216.*.

Also, if it interest anyone here, dynamic IP address doesn't cause any problem. Googlebot came just one to two hours after I reboot my machine. So they do resolve correctly. Problem I face is because my client's site is already down one month before I took over. That is why it disappear from the index.

I see by typing in the name of my websites at **** that my websites have made it in. Some of the terms I were going for are number 1 on some servers. Although on others I'm about no. 30

Is it far to early to look at the results now?

It is far too early to _trust_ the results. You may throw a brief glance at your PR. And compare the SERPs for your most important keywords on the different Google datacenters: www-ex,
www-sj, www-va, www-dc, www-ab, www-in, www-zu, www-cw. And refresh them.

See any patterns?

I seem to have exactly the same number of backlinks on ww2, ww3 even though there are new backlinks showing.

Hmm this update does not look good to me from 436 backlinks to 124 now and it seems that the new update does not like my smaller pages but I can not wright a 350 words text for every picture, it sad that you can not have a site with just a little text, but with a beutiful big picture, you know that a picture says more than a 1000 words, but not in Google.

Same backlinks, same positions for a number of searches throughout wwwx.google.com.

Maybe its because I'm in Germany. I can't see why though.

Yahoo has the same number of backlinks on all three main servers.

By applying what I learn here, my website has moved up from #13 to #9 last month, to #6 today in my main category keyword for 2.68 million results. The #1 position is definitely within my grasp. Many thanks to all for so generously sharing your knowledge. Stay up in 2003!

I would like to speculate a little about the effects of yesterday attacks.

As we all know, page rank is also affected by the size (how many websites) there are on the web.

Does anyone think yesterday nightmare can reduce the "web size" that google uses for its calculation? Can this be possible?

I have page changes showing in www2 that were only hit by the freshbot, 64.68.82.xx, i.e. changes done since well after the deepcrawl was finished with my site. Anyone else seeing this? (my apologies if it's buried in this thread somewhere already)

I think it started lastnight at around 1am ish. I was doing some programmingi and searching google for another site i was doing SEO on when i noticed some strange stuff going on, like the number of pages google had indexed for a site of mine started to flux a little.

I thought that i was probably just seeing things as it was late. ;)

Looks like a was too lazy the last 2 months and lost a few spots on the SERPs. Time to get more links. Mel Gibson, can you change the name of your last movie because you're taking too many of the top 10 positions and making it difficult for me to get back into top 10. Hope the rest of you did OK.

Can somebody tell me what the changed are after let's say 12 hours after the dance has started.

Every time when I check my positions on www2 and 3 during a dance I don't see any changed in positions anymore after a few hours, besides that the change of www itself.

There are more than just those 3 databases. At the moment I have changes in 3 of the 7 servers that I'm checking. The dance is over when the results are the same right across the board.

Regarding the freshbot. My News page is in the new index with a Jan 12 snapshot showing in the cache. The new indexing is based on crawls done from early Dec through to mid-Jan. Very cool GG.
