I am seeing no backlinks for yahoo or dmoz on www2 or www3, also serps are changing. Is this it?

Up to number 1 for some rather competitive keywords (750000+ pages found). Been in top 5 for months, but this is the best one yet.

But it will take a while to settle and things might still change.

For what it's worth, I have seen two sets of results since about Jan 6.

In one set, I am #3 always and in second set, I hover between 10-15. The results toggle with mostly being the #3 position. The set of results with the #3 position shows me as cached with no date, while the #10-#15 set of results shows me as cached with date usually 2-4 days old.

Is the cached records with the date the freshbot, and the cached without the date, the mainbot.

How embarassing. I post there is no update, and wake up to find one. ;) While at the moment I am #1 for two key single word searches, I managed to rise from #6 to just #5 on the one I have been working on. Bummer. If only some PR8 page would link to my home page... ;)

It isn't a matter of how big your PR is, but how well you use it. ;) A PR8 doesn't mean much if you are #87 for a key SERP.

yeah..i am really happy with my results as well...google thank you...but please please keep it the way it is..please dont let my ranks drop down again...its just really annoying when the results fall apart...

I've been noticing something weird all day..

I keep getting hits (usually from the national tdl's .de etc..) on pages that according to google it doesn't know about. I keep copy/pasting the referrer strings from the logs to a browser and my site is nowhere to be seen!?

Is this the dance doing this?

Thing is (and this is the wierd bit) .. all day the hits have coincided almost exactly with a hit from the bot. Is this a coincidence?

Are these hits an indication of future positions? Or are they dance-flukes? (the GB has only read about 3% of what is a very new site..)

very strange, all of my sites went from PR5 to 4, but position improved, I even got a #2 position in a very competative KW (3.3M) but the PR is 4.
does it make sense to anyone? there are more links but why the PR went down?

It appears I am already getting hits on my new position in google in www2 and www3 hits from peeps on www...but I don't see the new results on www...do others get fed the update on www before others? I know these are from the new update results...they wouldn't have found me on the old ones for the searches I am getting...and I mean, I see a major change on hits from search words I rank excellent in www2 and 3, but not even found in www for....?

Jimmie, I've been testing www, www2 and www3 for a number of keywords and am consistently getting the same SERPs. jjdesigns4u said the same. So it seems to be quite natural that you will be getting those guests.

Well, I am happy. I got my forum indexed which means that I now have a couple of hundred more pages in Google. Lots of top10 positions for the forum pages..

This is a huge increase for me since I only have 30-40 regular pages of content.

Google has *finally* resolved my site into a single domain (rather than mydomain.com and www.mydomain.com treated separately).

I was going to tinker to sort it out, but figured it would sort itself out over a couple of updates.

Seems that www for me here in Denmark pr. default finds a datacenter that _has_ been updated, while you are lead to one with the old db, Jon.

I've been hard at work optimizing my whole site for SEO over the last couple of weeks. Is it a little optimistic to expect positive results from this update, or should I really be waiting until the next 'dance' (late Feb) to see the effects of my work? :)

troels nybo nielsen, I saw that for a few minutes too...and then www reverted back to old results...so I can see that the hits I am getting are definitely from the new results...www just isn't consistent yet for me in northwest USA

your PR can go down simply because the sum of all sites google knows increases more than your backlinks.

On the other hand, you can increase yuor ranking getting relevant keyword links.

Am I the only one to complain here...? Only October was worse. This time 2 f* spammy travel portal sites with usable content -> 0 have moved in front of me for 2 rather competitive keywords. The algo change is significant IMHO.
Well, can do nothing 'bout it, it is only a information site, I fortunately do not earn money with it ;) . So i'll sit back and wait a month, trying to get links links links, all links which seem to count.

If a site lost its PR and got gray bar after the Dec. update (I think due to server was down), Now with this month update, when does it get the PR back if there is no penalty imposed on it?

Does anyone had a gray bar and got the site rank back?
