"like i said, i have done a search on www2.google.com"
You didn't actually say you were doing it on www2, check your post. It might be that fresh listing are causing the anomolies in the results.
Try a link: check and you should find it's consistent on both PCs on www2 and www3.
Looks like www-va is done so only 2 data centers to go now:
www-cw
www-in
2 thirds of the way done.
Anyone else have this problem? I know it was mentioned elsewhere on the forums, but it looks like Google has changed it's method of finding locations again. I also know another host who was having this problem a few weeks ago.
(By the way, add the string
&meta=cr%3DcountryUK%7CcountryGB
to the url (in the address bar) of www3.google.com searches to preview google.co.uk results)
Just found that one -- got the old parania going again.

1. Your competitors got better
OR
2. You forgot to update! Google loves new content and new pages. We note our fresh pages get a boost for 3 months or so. Stale old pages tend to stay the same or go down slowly.>>
No change in all but one (that's down one PR) and an ex client's site plummeting into obscurity -- amazing even though they got some free advice -- of to Foo to have a rant.

I've been doing that and it shows the same results that google.co.uk is showing now anyway.
The problem is .com shows one of my words at the top of page one but .co.uk shows it on page 2. I've been told that the .co.uk will update and show the new positions but it's bad on the nerves and I can understand why it doesn't show by following the process you've just described.
None of my other sites appear to have changed one bit, in PR or in the SERPs. I was really hoping that one, in particular, would move from a PR-5 to a PR-6, as it has more than doubled its back links, but it's still number 2 in the SERPs for the most logical key phrase, so there's no real problem there either.
Ecstatic would be nice, but I'd rather be bored than suicidal.
I really hope Google will review their location thingy because it's pretty depressing to suddenly drop from results because the location was wrong.
As I asked before, anyone else have this problem? I'm kinda hoping it will be widespread because then Google might look into it.
My conclusion - Google thinks the server is outside the UK, but UK specific domain names get put in the regional database regardless. As I mentioned above, I know a small hosting company in the UK who are also experiencing this bug - 3 months ago they were in .co.uk results, they changed server and haven't been listed since.
I am showing up under uk on yahoo and freeserve.
I hope it all pans out soon as I am now more confused than ever.
has anybody heard any thing from google about this?
according to google-dance dot com my site (and I am sure other in here) shows up in all data centers but one.
After the dance this weekend we've been getting our first real traffic, and today we got our first real transaction (did have a couple the other week, but that was from a friend who works for the local-competition ;) ) ...
Thankyou google! .. and really enjoyed watching my first dance!
ATB,
:)
Overall, when this thing settles down though, I think we'll have some new sites going from a PR 0 or 1 to a PR of 5 to 7 initially. Gotten tons of leads just in the last day or so from customers finding the (unresolved) keywords in which our business supplies services.
I wish it would stop already though :¦
The Affiliate ID that Google is using is invalid and I can't find any affiliate who is using their affiliate ID incorrectly so I am really flummoxed about where Google got this Affiliate ID from.
All other affiliate links (as well as our real URL) seem to have been resolved (merged?) into this one URL.
Do I write to Google about this once the update is over?
As usual a number of new members have arrived in the dance thread. In the middle of a general confusion not all have been properly welcomed by someone. I hope you will all feel welcome here at WebmasterWorld. It's a marvelous resource. As you may already have seen we have many very competent members and there is a great level of willingness to help each other. Welcome.
