The results look really good.. hopefully this will reflect across all the datacenters soon. Seems like the spammier sites I compete against have moved down while the good honest pages have moved up.

Totally agree with that analysis - I also suspect that it wont hold but my only reason for thinking that is that it looks too good to be true!
I am kind of hoping that it is just reverted to an old algo as there are a lot of very fresh pages in the mix too.

Different Google datacentres. You should some differing results at www-in.google.com and www-ex.google.com, for example.
2 of my sites aren't even in the top 50 anymore, they were no.5 and no.8 not so long ago. my other 2 sites have plumeted to 5 and 6.
don't like this google update.
I've seen some very odd results so I tend to think/hope that this wil not be the new index.
Maybe it would be a good idea for some of you guys from different industry sectors than mine to test the relevancy of some major seraches.
I try not to sweat the ebb and flow of the updates but whatever has been added into the mix, seems to be a negative influence for my site.
If they've added a new ingredient into their algorythmic secret recipe, I hope they pull it out soon.
GRRR! Why don't I just pack up shop now?! I'm going to get crucified. I cannot believe Google has done this again. Geez this makes me angry! (and severely worried about the future of SEO as a viable business)
Then slowly, more slight changes will be feed in in 1-2 days where it will usually bring up the missing sites, update some site ranking ...
It is always happier to see your site rise in the 'slight change' stage rather then drop down becuase your competitor feed in. :)
I know datacentre watching is ultimately futile, but this ine leapt out at me.
I'm seeing a really dramatic change in serps. In fact 40+ sites which I monitor seem to have been dropped altogether.
On my sites during the last month or two, I have seen certain subpages being dropped (not to be found anywhere) when an update starts, only to reappear later on the 1st page of the SERPS, like they were before. Maybe it will be the same with the sites you are talking about.
That's why i'm sitting here, playing didgeridoo instead of loosing my nerves and sucking the datacenters' server bandwith ... :)

-2 sites are blogger sites
-One is a a .gov site
-The other has absolutely NOTHING to do with the keyword "blue widgets", but mentions the keyword in singular form once on the page as "blue widget".
Allinanchor, text, and title are the same as they were before this major change.
These results remind me alot of what the serps looked like when I first got into SEO this past summer.. Relevant players (including 3-4 of my competitors) are nowhere to be found.
I had a feeling something big was going to happen because of the flucations I've been seeing for the past 2 days.. but never expected this.
Good luck with this guys.. I feel sorry for those people out there looking for "blue widgets" this weekend on Google. They will find no sites offering blue widgets for sale. Only irrelevant pages that remotely mention blue widgets.
I have disappeared from listings across a couple of dozen terms. Reminiscent of Esmerelda. Where I do show up is ususally a deeper page, and usually an obscure term.
Still in top 10 in allinanchor, allintext, allinurl across main terms, but not in the top 100 in serps.
Looks like the old "let's boot the index" algo is being used.
Nerve racking, but I know the site is sound, so I will go play and see how things settle out.
(Looks like things are still in flux across the different data centers. Also looks like a lot of index pages are missing)

Join the club. I had been ranked between #2 - #5 across several key phrases and #1 for about 20 sub-phrases. As of this morning, I am gone from the SERPs...I mean completely gone. My index page and many sub-pages still show PR6 and even deep links are PR5. So, I find it hard to believe I have been penalized to the point of being blown off the face of Google. Seems like too many others are having the same issues.
I sure hope this is temporary and not permanent <hands wringing>.

Overall, my gut feeling is they have not figured in certain variables in their algo, at least I hope so because this is a mess.
