April 2019 was a kick in the teeth for most /some of us.

Easter (Catholic and Orthodox) and very low payment made April a very bad surprise.

May is here and it's starting with a non-working day (1st of May - International Workers' Day) in many countries.

Hope the best, expect the worst...

After a good start on the week, Friday is again a desaster SEO and Adsense wise.
There is solution to compensate the losses: buy put options on Google shares.

Thanks to the issue with the ads not being displayed at all, as well as the May 2 decline change people described above, May is a disaster for me.

Had a 15-18% rise in earnings over the past few days. Considering number of impressions over same period is lower then this is encouraging. Hope it continues !

Anyone having the issue causing Adsense not updating the impressions/clicks past few days? The Page Views number seems fine but my Clicks decreased by like 80%

@windmm Yes, I do and I'm honestly frustrated. I've got 0 earnings for the past 2 days and it's been over 24 hours, sent a few reports to Google, no luck. I don't get any impressions or clicks but like 1000s of page views. They simply don't distribute ads. Anyone has any idea where this is going?

Well that sucks. I am not really sure if my visitors can see the ads but the revenue dropped like crazy past few days. And when I come to this forum, I see that many people have been facing the same issue too!

I lost like 80+% revenue since May 15, what strange is my traffic remains the same.

@umutege

Your CTR was 30%? Wow that was very high!

This is normal CTR

30% is NOT normal CTR unless your ads and content are indistinguishable.

@trebuchet

No you're wrong. In my website is download and niche website. I am getting payment about 5 years with that CTR.

Google might have finally taken notice of that CTR. I’m not sure why even on a download site it would be okay.

Alright.

I am facing the issue still today. Revenue dropping like hell. Clicks decreased by 80% without any known reasons :(

Day 3 0.00€ earnings. I'm sick of this really. My website has a lot of traffic and I'm making decent revenue, but thanks to this the loss is huge. The impressions counter shows 32 impressions yesterday, impressive indeed.

I really hope this gets fixed in a few hours because end of month is coming.

An update: seems like the issue @engcom2019 mentioned isn't related to the AdSense issue. A thread has been started on AdSense Forums in order to raise awareness about what's happening and hopefully Google will fix it: [support.google.com...]

It’ll be interesting to see, with all the Adsense problems, if there are still clawbacks at the end of the month.

I wish Google would let us know what’s going on. I find it strange that what I pay to advertise on Google (ads.google.com) has not been affected. With a 40% drop in revenue overnight I would expect a drop of at least that in advertising expenses.

Still facing the issue today. Revenue is low as hell. No news from Google Adsense yet.

Just checked my ads.google.com charges and they doubled, yet my Adsense revenue is still exceptionally low. That will not work.

Sissi

Adsense is ok today ( in the 2019 context) starting with a good RPM due to a 2 digit click pricing for a competitive niche.

Less ads and more qualitative contents are the key despite current technical problems.

Based on a large number of websites in different languages I can only confim that some sectors and geographies will have to be given up by some publishers.

@Sissi so they just decided to 'block' some publishers from using AdSense? Lovely.

Sissi

12:49 pm on May 27, 2019 (gmt 0)

Not at all not for publishers

Even if Ads blocking is a technical issue for some publishers, It is obvious that some markets will be ‚ignored‘.

An RPM of 1 USD for Morroco and 120 USD for the Swiss markets are making the difference currently.

If the current complaints will come with more details as to the sectors and regions we would all have a constructive debate on what s going on.

Adsense remains the best monetising way for websites with the ups and down.

The old model is over abd we need to adapt to another qualiy level.

And yes a CTR of 10 pc is still working and a RPM over 50 USD are not exceptions.

The best way to overcome obstacles is to question yourselve first.

I really want to question myself. However, dropping 80% of revenue while the traffic remains is not understandable...

djfang

It indeed isn't understandable. Also, my website's traffic is mostly from the US according to Analytics and I typically get good figures. Traffic remains the same, even a little bit higher compared to the same time last week. I cannot get any CTR or RPM because nearly NO ADS are being served to the users, so far, for 1,083 pageviews (2pm, May 27) there are 23 impressions. I don't even know what to question out of my statistics and website - it's fully compliant, active and it's getting a rather decent traffic for the niche it's in.

The biggest problem in my opinion is that Google are remaining silent for a third day in a row and the only thing I know about this issue is that their team replied to some people that they are either inspecting their traffic, or have decided that their traffic is not what Google seeks, resulting in a 'limitation' of ad serving. They still haven't replied to any email of mine I've sent them ever since May 24. Sure, they have some issues, it occurs even to the best, but it's a must to address them especially if they last that long.

Sorry for those who are facing the current problems.
This is indeed not explainable
