April 2019 was a kick in the teeth for most /some of us.

Easter (Catholic and Orthodox) and very low payment made April a very bad surprise.

May is here and it's starting with a non-working day (1st of May - International Workers' Day) in many countries.

Hope the best, expect the worst...

@Robert976, I'm not sure but header bidding only bids or shows an ad if it's interesting enough for advertiser or network. And it's limited that the auction is done within 1 second. But the difference with Adsense is huge so still my point of view Adsense seems to be an ending game.

Yesterday, the lowest impression RPM...ever. I hope this is not an indication of things to come, but I'm afraid it is (sigh).

Everyone has very bad RPM. It is just the beginning of a global recession. It is already here, just the media won't tell you. The good thing is, that every recession usually lasts for only about 1,5 years.

The question is: Do you want to spend these 1,5 years moaning and watching your stats every day or would you rather like to do something more productive?

@Frost, maybe read with more attention because it was several times mentioned here that there are problems with several services of Google. A recession is possible but the problems at Google's side are the main issue now.

Ok sorry then. If I understand correctly, the stats are frozen for some people. I am not experiencing any problems other than low RPM, but this has been going on for months now. For me it's about 50% drop compared to last year and it's the worst RPM since 2011. Fortunately, my traffic went up.

This is definitely turning into a bad month for my AdSense earnings. Traffic is up 20% over May 2018 but AdSense earnings are down 25%. Oddly, it seems to be an issue only on my website. My YouTube earnings from AdSense are going strong.

My earnings are pretty much back on track, but I did post a question about it - in the midst of all the "Why isn't my account approved?" questions - in the Adsense help forum. Gracey, one of their top contributors, said to ask in the Ads section, since they would know about the Adsense disruption shown in the dashboard. Haven't gotten to that yet. I could just chat with Adsense, but I like to stay under the radar :)

Since 12 May the number of impressions for CPC and Active View CPM bids on my site has increased significantly in detriment of CPM bids. So up until 12 May, I had the CPC impressions at about 45%, now they are 73%. The Active View CPM was 4%, now it's 8.5%.
Since the change in bid types, my revenue in each day is either extremely low or above what I used to get. So far, on average the revenue is slightly down.

I am wondering if the percentage between bid types has changed for any of you?

The bid types can be checked in Report by->Bid types->select Impressions under Overview-> view it as "Pie chart".

@Frostitomik, there are problems for weeks now with their Ad services and it's affecting most users: [ads.google.com...]

I don't understand why they don't communicate about it. I know it's a difficult market with Amazon and Facebook gaining more parts from the pie but it's hurting the confidence in their products.

They do communicate if you check the ad status dashboard. Here is the latest on 5/16/19 (today). This is about Google Ads and it affects Adsense directly

Google Ad Manager service has already been restored for some users, and we expect a resolution for all users in the near future. Please note this time frame is an estimate and may change.

Issue 1: Requests to Ad Manager API services should complete, now including many ReportService requests, though some reports may still be stuck in IN PROGRESS status or receive SERVER ERROR failures.
------------------------------------
Issue 2: Google Ad Manager publishers may still be experiencing increased latency when running reports in Google Ad Manager Query Tool.
------------------------------------
Issue 3: The separate issue from May 1, 2019 (recording duplicate events such as clicks, conversions, queries) has already been resolved. However, reports for April 30 and May 1 might include duplicate entries due to the outage. Duplicate entries are currently being removed and the corrected data will be made available as soon as possible.
------------------------------------
Issue 4: Google Ad Manager publishers cannot access Ad Manager data within Data Studio.

You mean the status dashboard as I mentioned with the link? That's not a decent communication, they should give an explanation and for example offer an compensation. In this so called partnership there's a lack of communication from Google.

The Google got a big financial penalty (1,48 milliard euro), and I think the Google is paying back the penalty from our pocket. I think this because my account got low rpm around a week after the announcment about the penalty.

Compared to the 130+ billions earnings of Google, that is not that "big", and Google has a budget for fines :)

My traffic remains the same yet my impressions are way down resulting to -80% daily adsense earnings. Anyone having the same issue as me?

@Dimitri, excluding the fine Alphabet had an operating income of 8.3 billion USD last quarter. The fine was 1.7 billion USD so check your facts first ;-)

@Whome, almost the same here. Analytics shows me about 10% less pageviews compared to a month ago but Adsense halved.

It's time to use Adsense for the left overs so I'll give other ads even more impressions next weekend.

After the new update email by Adsense which says they are switching to rich ads only. After that, I do not see option to create new link ads units in my account. However, the already created old link ad units are operational? Is that normal? I mean it implies that onwards link ads are discontinued but old units will continue to work for some time? Anyone please?

@engineerqasim have you check on : ad unit >> text and display ads >> Ad size >> Showing >> Links ads.
I can still create link ads via display ads unit.

@toel did you get the new update email? I only see display ads option when I go to Ad Units -> Create new ad unit.

The available options are:

1. Display Ads
2. In article ads
3. Matches content
4. In feed ads

Did your account get updated with new changes? I guess the update is still rolling out

half of may is over and RPM and CTR are doing well against March and April.

Noticed that pages which have been improved in terms of content and quality as well as expertise are contributing to better revenues.

@Gracie I also deferred MediaVine for a year, then finally set it up a month ago. MASSIVELY worth it. It’s out-earning all six of my prior ad networks combined with far better user experience to boot.

@Evan What's your RPM been with Mediavine? There's plenty of CPMs/RPMs on the web but they all seem quite pie-in-the-sky.

For pageviews around the 5-7 dollar mark but I’m a noob and still learning the ins and outs of optimizing for MV. Also I’m in a low paying niche (mobile games) and my articles tend to be around the 400-700 word mark. Those food and finance bloggers with 3000 word articles and lots of pictures aren’t lying about their 15-25 dollar RPMs.
