Guys, while Adsense sucks and Panda has you on your knees, I suggest you take the opportunity to experiment with new designs for your sites and new ad formats. What do you have to lose. I did and it helped. I can't imagine now if I didn't, I would be the new town drunk, for sure.

I am so happy with all this the reason being is that if Google Phd kids think that by taking out ads from sites they will give better user experience then they are right but they are also going to miss on billions of dollars at the same time.

I guess Larry is willing to lose billions. Then STOP SPAMMING me with emails asking me to add more ads, I will not add Adsense ads..

Hard to understand how the CTR is now about 1/20th of what it once was not all that long ago. Whatever AdSense is doing, it's not working on my site anymore.

I keep reading references to "Panda" as the current villian. Could someone provide a clear one or two sentence explanation of what Panda did to your site that caused your earnings to decrease and how you can tell the decrease is the result of Panda?

Folks who were Pandalized lost significant portions of their traffic/rankings (but often not all) on the particular dates that various Panda updates were released - the first one being February 24, I believe. Presumably loss of traffic means loss of earnings. If *not* tied to those dates, then it's probably something something else.

Panda should have had no effect on things such as CTR or earnings per click. Just organic traffic.

With the introduction of Panda 2.1 my earnings were slashed to ~40% of previous earnings and my 2011 CTR was halved overnight.

June 2011 v May 2011 Earnings 78.5%
June 2011 v June 2010 Earnings 47.17%

So someone who was Pandalized can point to a measurable data point (date?) to know for sure they were negatively affected? In other words, their search rankings went down and the resulting loss in traffic resulted in lower AdSense earnings?

My AdSense earnings for the last two months have been dismal compared to prior history yet I still occupy the number one position in search rankings for the most searched key words for my primary sites.

However, I'm not surprised that earnings are down. Just because I am an AdSense publisher doesn't mean I am immune from the characteristics of the overall economy in the U.S. where the majority of my visitors are located.

You remind me of the EFV days Atomic. While nearly everybody else was complaining about this or that, he was always upbeat and very pro-Google. Thanks for posting about your success, gives folks like me hope. :-)

Last post I read from him, he was complaining about Panda ruining traffic on his web site in some blog comments. It's easy being upbeat and pro-this or pro-that when all is going great.

Yes you're right Koan, Panda ate him up. I was reflecting on the "old" days of EFV being the lone AdSense cheerleader here and how reminiscent Atomic's posts today are to his.

To Netmeg's point, did you lose that much traffic as well.

One specific site, my niche trade directory site, since precisely 6th May now has an average of 62.5% of page impressions and 60.2% of uniques.

Earnings for that site since 6th May have been 46.73%.

Most of my other sites have not been pandalised yet their earnings are at 61.5% with a CTR of 42.2%.
