My whole site has a new cache date of May 25th. Maybe once these other sites around me get recached, I won't hold such an honorable top position. But at least Google has found my pages worthy to sit in the Search again.:) It seems strange to look at the stats and see Google in there, after 6 months of just seeing Yahoo and MSN referrals.

My website has plenty of outbound links, but they are on relevant pages. The problem my site has always had, was a lack of "inbound links." I got tired of searching for people to link to me (with all the spammy sites around) and gave up. So my pages have acquired some links naturally I guess(and I'll bet I still don't have more than 30 inbound links for the whole site) Still have a PR4, which I've had since it disappeared in Nov.

KBA I don't mean for people to advertise their sites, just link to google with the keywords in it.

Can I just say that one site I have been working on has moved from not being in the first 50 pages in google for its keywords, to with a bit of optimization over the last few months hitting #1 this week.

Googles doing OK by me at present

reseller - "We said exactly the same after allegra. The only difference was that we didnīt invite a fat lady to sing for us.

[webmasterworld.com...]

And just like this Bourbon update there were a lot of fellow members who kept telling us that the update wasnīt completed and "we should sit tight, wait and see".

Trust me the fat lady has sung and left the building and we all have to live with the current serps till the arrival of the next "Minor shuffling" followed by a new update."

Well Im telling you my site as we type is coming back from having over half the pages to include the home page being grey-bared and out of the index to getting pr back and now these same pages are showing up in the index again, I would say "Its not over" wouldnt you?

Well if this update is finished, what have they done?

What a pile of cr@p the serps are now. MSN and Yahoo have NOTHING to worry about, Google are now helping them!

Its just such a waste of what was once a great search engine.

I wish i could quote some urls. I see some absolute gems ranking high in the sector im involved in. Sites with little content but redirected links, company sites that supply services to websites ranking higher than on topic sites because they have an outbound link to a high ranked on topic site and some real poor directory sites all up at the top. Meanwhile a lot of quality on topic results feature outside the top 30.

Its simply amazing. I am being genorous by saying that the results now are about 12% of the top 30 are relevent to the search term - I have never seen it so bad.

Thank god we have Yahoo and MSN!

Wow. I've never seen anything like this update.

My 8-year-old site with PR5 that is full of hundreds of pages of original content saw its hits drop by over 75% in one day. Daily for months, we've been seeing right around 2,000 uniques a day. Then, that fateful day, they dropped to just over 500, where they've been since, with almost all from MSN and Yahoo.

My site is gone from almost all my keywords, though my PR hasn't changed - I haven't updated this site in a while, and I definitely haven't done anything bad in SEO. I haven't even touched it. It is a non-commercial site, so I haven't tried to promote it very hard. You know, just useful information. Not the kind of site that Google likes anymore.

The top sites in these keywords are now all junk. Pages with no PR, one instance of a keyword, or none at all (just in links to the site), scraper sites, just junk!

I've also seen in my own personal searches, Google just sucks. The SERPS are terrible. It's like using ALTAVISTA again five years ago. Did Google forget why they got market share in the first place?

Honestly, when are people going to realize that this forum is a little useless when one cannot post URI examples.

12 days and if you type my keywords "red blue" my site redblue.co.uk comes top in MSN and top in Yahoo and I can't find the ***** thing in google. It does not exist in the top 200 results.
This is not a spammy site and services a small niche with very relevant listings.

We keep digging for answers while they are right there in front of our noses.

Your top positions on Yahoo are hearting your google positions for the simple fact that your site is now linked from thousands of yahoo scrappers.

Your site is now a major "link farming", "link buying", "Duplicate content" spam suspect. Without your knowledge or consent. You are being penalized for your hard work.. Creating content is a big no no in google eyes nowadays.

Is google broken? YES IT IS.

Any search engine which is unable to accommodate for such issues and penalize sites for gaining unwanted links IS BROKEN or very poorly designed.

Google can no longer handle the spam, in fact it appears as a major spam catalyst itself.

Stop tweaking your pages. There is not much you can do to stop scrappers linking to you. This is a google problem.....start launching your own scrappers if you want to survive in this business and watch googl's database going 16 billion pages on the next update.

Google is dying allright.

I checked our site, and we are also gone from international sites like: google.it, google.de, fr, jp...

My sites (6) they have all dropped from 2000 searches a day (each) to 46 a day one of them, to 2 a day another, 1 or 0 for another and so on, GREAT update, we were affected by the Allegra update, but just in April 2005 we started to recover, but now is just too much, I am going to see Social Security because I have NO income

I hate to say it but you are right.

I just moved my browsers search from google to yahoo after 7 years, because for the first time since altavista search screwed up, there is now a better alternative!

its the only game in town now if the last google update really is done! I really hope there is gonna be a BIG final fix! But its not likely now.

3 (of 9) pure unique content sites I own (and I really DO mean unique!) have all but vanished from the serps in G.

In msn, and yahoo all is as expected, and my sites are found for the obvious terms that you would expect.

Above my genuine and very large content pages on google, with thousands of words per page, are 3 or 4 full pages of very dubious "directories" with my url. some stolen content, or newsgroups, my own sites, forums, that link to me! My sites are buried, or severely penalised or something... All this work and for what?

In any normal situation I would just chuck it and do something else. But I am a paraplegic, the only way I can work to make ends meet is websites and advertising. Shovels are no use to me anymore!

Google holds the power to trash 85% of my visitors, and income, even if its totally whitehat at a stroke! And it has. Presumably because of scraper directories with duplicate contents for almost all of my pages.

For the 2nd or 3rd time now. I am too tired to fight it now, so will just watch.

Seems to me that the tide has changed! Remember when AltaVista no longer provided sensible results?

We all went to the new "google" as it was fast, clean and accurate! The public followed,

Well its happening agsin!

So who is next?
