My whole site has a new cache date of May 25th. Maybe once these other sites around me get recached, I won't hold such an honorable top position. But at least Google has found my pages worthy to sit in the Search again.:) It seems strange to look at the stats and see Google in there, after 6 months of just seeing Yahoo and MSN referrals.

My website has plenty of outbound links, but they are on relevant pages. The problem my site has always had, was a lack of "inbound links." I got tired of searching for people to link to me (with all the spammy sites around) and gave up. So my pages have acquired some links naturally I guess(and I'll bet I still don't have more than 30 inbound links for the whole site) Still have a PR4, which I've had since it disappeared in Nov.

>If theres a lot of "Crap" in the Serps then most likely the Fat Lady hasn't even warmed up yet.<

We said exactly the same after allegra. The only difference was that we didnīt invite a fat lady to sing for us.

[webmasterworld.com...]

And just like this Bourbon update there were a lot of fellow members who kept telling us that the update wasnīt completed and "we should sit tight, wait and see".

Trust me the fat lady has sung and left the building and we all have to live with the current serps till the arrival of the next "Minor shuffling" followed by a new update.

I am seeing quite a lot of movement now on our 3 word "keyword" first for some time.

Our google.co.uk resolves to 64.233.161.147 and comes back as www.l.google.com (!)

Still think we have to wait until recached - see post #*$! for the theory ( forgotten as this thread is so long!)

"'Joe Average Surfer' WILL continue to use Google (even if he's disappointed) because that's what he's been programmed to do."

I couldn't disagree more. G is tops because until recently they have delivered exceptionally good SERPs. If human "programming" were the sole reason for most folks using a particular SE, then everybody would still be using Yahoo (or AltaVista) and G would never have been invented.

G is broken. They've killed it for a few golden eggs. Joe Surfer may catch on later than pros such as us, but he will catch on.

Having just encountered this thread, and reading back over it, I wonder if some of the people who are having google issues could post links to google with the terms they are using?

It would add far more vailidity and interest instead of just taking peoples word for it.

damn I can't edit my post.
We also may then be able to detect any pattern in the changes, if we had knowledge of the keywords and topic areas used.
