My website has plenty of outbound links, but they are on relevant pages. The problem my site has always had, was a lack of "inbound links." I got tired of searching for people to link to me (with all the spammy sites around) and gave up. So my pages have acquired some links naturally I guess(and I'll bet I still don't have more than 30 inbound links for the whole site) Still have a PR4, which I've had since it disappeared in Nov.

BTW - still not seeing the crawl activity I would like.
In the range of 30-40% of my site listed.
Cheers

>Anyone else seeing this (or am i going crazy (which is possible)<
Many have been seeing this since allegra and they have already written tens and tens of posts describing the same.
What you see is nothing less than the magic of the rotating algos ;-)

This is not a spammy site and services a small niche with very relevant listings.
In conclusion Google is broken.
Nope totally different.
Rotating algo theory (which I dont believe in ;)) means pages rank higher and lower on keyword searches. It does not mean that pages disappear - I mean disappear for a while and then come back (Disappear - as in search for the url string eg: www.domain.com/thispage.com and Google returns a result saying :-
Sorry, no information is available for the URL www.domain.com/thispage.htmlIf the URL is valid, try visiting that web page by clicking on the following link: www.domain.com/thispage.html
Find web pages that contain the term "www.domain.com/thispage.html"
EG - Google does not even know the page exists. (As if it has never been crawled)
EG. Google having problems holding on to crawled data (Well perhaps not problems - perhaps this is a new way of working - but you dont expect pages to disappear after such a short while)

If it is rotating algos, then I guess if I ever use google again for searching information I need to find out the time of day when the best algo is being used.
I know we should wait until this update is over before we make any judgements, but this thing has been going on for almost 3 weeks. That is a long time. My only conclusion is that something has gone terribly wrong. Google is in crisis.
This makes no sense, and probably is the heart of your problem.
"No one has a clue of what's going on."
You and many others have been told precisely the area of the problem you are facing, but you just ignore the comments, despite the fact that many come from peope who have experienced the exact same thing in previous updates.
Of course this won't explain everybody's problems, but the commonality in the complaints posted here generally points to the same old problems.
"Guys, I don't think this www Vs non-www means anything."
More the pity. Stop raging at the winds and fix the issue that has caused problems for thousands of others for more than a year.
<Some guy named Guido should come with webmasterworld registration who "requires" you to read previous threads before posting...>
So basicly half my site (the ones i can see page rank in the toolbar) is still in the index and the other half(grey bared in the toolbar) is out of the index.
To me its not hurting I have a tool that tells me exatly "who's on" the site currently and I see no drop, Im just getting more traffic from my Yahoo and MSN ranking.
On the other hand its fun to watch whatever their doing in the background.
It started off with Home Page vanishing, then 1 by 1 my other pages are vanishing. I believe it will come back, rather I hope. But this is not a trend I've seen before, with 1 page by 1 page vanishing from the index and getting grey bared. Although all grey bared pages have cache, pretty weird whats going on right now.......
