I'm seeing live Brandy results now

I am finally seeing the Brandy index in the regular SERPS. Is this the real deal or is it still cycling?

Still bouncing around. On my desktop, I'm getting the new layout with older results and on my laptop I'm getting the old layout with the new results.

I'm seeing them in Canada, and in my server in the US I'm seeing Brandy results PLUS some additional changes (even high SERPS)

But I'm not getting and hits in the last couple hours so I don't think it has populated around yet.

10 hours ago I was still seeing the old results ... but this is the first time I've seen the new results in the British Virgin Islands at www.google.vg

I'm seeing them here but I'm not getting the results I should from traffic... IE:

My First Place Rankings: 274
Top 5: 707
Top 10: 774
Top 20: 894
Top 30: 972

All these are out of over 750,000 results each... the recent update was a significant jump up for me, so I think if it was global I'd see traffic to match.

Many of us have been desperate for news on this - and have been attempting to post as such (since the Brandy 3 thread was locked). Brett (perhaps understandably?) regards this as noise.

But as a webmaster following recent events, the arrival of 64.* type results ('type results' because they are no longer coming from 64.*) is pretty bl*ody important.

I'm pleased to see that a post about this significant event - which has happened much later than GG predicted - has finally made it through the flak cannons and air defences of this board.

I agree with you. I really found the brandy update 3 forum very good and didn't understand why it was locked up. I am a new member so maybe someone would very kindly explain. I am delighted although a little nervous about this current update. The results I see do not comform to 64 data results. As usual we shall have to wait until the dust settles. But when your number 10 on page one and you keep slipping to page 2 its a nerve racking buisness.

I love the new results for my main site but a couple of secondaries have disappeared. Do you think they have turned up the dupe filter?

Entirely my own opinion. But given the total b*lls up presented over the past 4 months, nothing will ever surprise with G any more.

Hi Synth...,

I'm pretty sure this Dupe thing we are seeing on the new results (actually not seeing and that's the problem) is directly related to the semantic indexing which is now part of the algorithm.

I'm off to re-read the CIRCA paper to see if it mentions anything about this and will report back tomorrow.

[added] By Dupe thing and Dupe filter I'm specifically meaning duplicate content. Not the dupe filter in SERPs which is switched of when you repeat the search with omited results included.

Me too. I was still enjoying the Brandy update thread, although I can understand where Brett/mods might get tired of "I see 216! I see 64!" type posts. :)

Just to answer the question, the 64 update should be mostly out by now--I think 2-3 data centers are still waiting to be switched, but will be switched in the next day or so.

GG, I notice that the newest 64 results are even better than they have been this past week. Are these results going to be integrated into the final switch?

I've seen the new results all day, but I haven't seen the new layout since last night.

Can't wait for both to show for good, I like the new layout, it's very tidy and I think the AdWords users will like it a little better as well.

Although the new layout did break in Safari for about every other search. The descriptions for the regular SERPs would flow into the AdWords listings.

For those of you who said that the Brandy update wasn't quite done because your traffic hasn't increased that much, maybe this is because Yahoo has switched away from Google, and your website is used to being ranked the same there.

flobaby, there will be minor changes, as we're always pulling in new data and Google's results change for some searches in the normal course of events. The main thing is that the improved rankings will be everywhere, but some of the underlying data will have changed too. It will mostly look the same.

BTW, sorry that I initially thought the switchover would be done over the weekend and it's taken a few days extra. The production folks get the final say about when a binary is switched, and I have near-infinite trust in the wisdom of our production folks. :)

anybody from Australia seen the new results switch over? Over the past 3 days I have seen them live for about 3 hours in total.

Is it usual for different locations to switch at different times even if you are looking on dot com. (not .com.au, .co.uk etc.)

Has it been confirmed that the 'new look' is more than just a test and will imminently roll out too? Brandy looks totally live to me but I've yet to see the new interface in anything other than screenshots.

I'm definitely not confirming the new look. :) We're always trying UI experiments, but that doesn't mean that any will go live. I'm only confirming that the Brandy change is switching over.

I just found a site that contains 3 pictures 2 with links and 200 words same color text as background on a Result 1 - 10 of about 4,670,000 for a 2 word search, after this shake up in search results I thought at least samecolor background text was gone, but nobe.

I still like the may 2003 results the best, after that things went crazy, it has nothing to do with my site.

I have been seeing the 64x results since early this morning (US central). Everything is looking great from my point of view. I just did a spot check on my money phrase and saw 0 (that's right! 0,nada,no,etc.) spam in the first 50 results. It is looking very good from here. I hope this sticks for a while :-)

GG please say its staying around, and your not gonna be so eager to switch back so soon, as this is the best i have seen the SERPS since Oct 03

I am not just saying its great because i went up for some KWs, i also went down for some other KWs as well, but i think the general consensus here is that the right buttons have been pushed, and its not a bad tweak at all, took a long time coming but at least i can feel confident again with my work.

If you can get most here to say its a big improvement when compared with the last 2 updates (we all know the names) ;) then it can't be bad.....
