I was definitely expecting to see another update, though. The rolling update thing just hasn't happened, apart from new sites/pages becoming permanent in the index without needed to go through an update.
I still think of backlink changes as the best indicator of an update, unless SERPs changed dramatically in a short amount of time, which so far they haven't.
AOL for five days now has been showing results that are either cached, or from a data center that's not one of the nine that everyone commonly refers to.
I know because for the last five days, we have a site that's #2 on all nine data centers without fluctuation, but #17 on AOL (and oddly, in the AOL SERP's the position has fluctuated).
In the past we've noticed a lag of typically several hours in AOL's updates of Google's SERP's - but only several hours. This time, five days. So AOL is either importing data to their own servers and haven't updated the import in five days, or there's another data center they're pulling from, take your pick. Either way, never seen it before.
He did post before between Dominic and Esmeralda that Google was changing to a new system, but that he wouldn't be surprised if there was one more traditional update. That would have been Esmeralda. Thus we should be in a new era. However, what that era is like, and what should be expected, is unknown.

I took googleguy's comments to mean that there would be one or more traditional updates after Dominic.
See msg #57 here: [webmasterworld.com...]
where googleguy says: "However, we're still in the transition period for this system, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a traditional update for a little while longer."
And msg #67 here: [webmasterworld.com...]
where googleguy says: "I would expect at least another update of the form where the crawl/index cycle finishes and then data centers are updated in the traditional dance."

Expecting at least one more traditional update.
I am not expecting an update - but I am praying for one ;) - but I dont think this is it
I have been getting freshbot on the first two tiers of the site nearly daily until Wednesday. This past week, I was at the point where all my main entry pages were showing up in Google... now it looks like I am back to the initial site pages of late May... and googlebot is nowhere to be seen...
on the other hand... scooter is having some fun indexing like mad ;)
I have seen a similar situation on one of my sites - freshed until recently and now reverting back to an older cache.
At least we know we are not alone.
Still not stating 700 legit. links but they can all be displayed.
Still only PR1 despite links from 5's.
Happy that all will be sorted sometime.

I was doing pretty well in google up until about two weeks ago when my sight droped off of the first page and onto the second. The funny thing about it is that the title it is an old page title. It does not even match the title on the page it has cached. I am also patiently waiting for google to add the dmoz category when it displays my links.
Any thoughts on either two issues.
Thanks
Things look pretty normal to me.
The problem is that over recent months, abnormal has become the new normal.
I would certainly be interested to know why my site ranks more highly on -CW (has done for a couple of weeks) and now -FI is doing the same. My limited understanding of the way Google works is that whilst transient differences between data centers are normal, static differences are not, therefore things are not normal (unless abnormal is the new normal).
