One of our main sites has vanished in the last week. During the last few days, its been there one minute but gone the next, now it really seems to have vanished. This could not have come at a worse time, its like a nightmare...
What I'm confused about is the timing. Normally sites get dropped (for whatever reason) during an update - so why now? Any ideas?
Hopefully the next update will be better... I hope the next update will be the name of a girl like Sophia or something like that... I am luckier with women's names... :-)

The other sites are too new to make an intelligent evaluation.
My current site is about a year and a half old.
The theme seems to be that the backdate really crushed new sites that were doing great in April. :(
The A site would probably be a B, except the highest traffic keyphrase when it was on page 3 of the SERPs, moved to page 1. Other keyphrases on all the sites seem to be the same or slightly better.
New site = slightly down. This site first got a PR in April. Then lost it again through Dominic.
Anyone who lost their PR (greyed bar) through Big Bad Dom got it back yet?

However, Alta Vista and Ask.com have crawled our whole site and improved are rankings tremendously.
Now if only I could get 80% of the searching public to use those SE's. ;)

... if I gain the 2 search terms I'm mysteriously getting traffic from that is ranking well on other dataceners but not www, I'll be back to (C).
Bottomline: traffic is still increasing - unchanged since months - climbing - no traffic drops. That's what counts, imho.
<added>I speak about a dozen different sites. All clean, no spam, only very valuable content, of course! :)<added>

Observed Spam: a) Much higher
Curious: can you define goose egg? What positions would you hve expected and what positions did you get? I ask because one of my friend's site was launched april, 2 and gains acceptable to excelent positions for the most important keywords / phrases with just minor drops since dominic.

Just curious. What does this have to do with anything? My mom's site is cranking too! Many here are saying that they have dropped on new sites since Dominic. I'm not sure how your friends site is relevant, unless you want to share his secrets to exploiting freshbot. :)
I don't buy this statements allthough many others have posted such in the past.

most sites remain the same but a few domains where I have been number 1 for over a year have dropped to number 3.
Perhaps the current Google victims should set up a site to convince the public how lousy Google is, and link to it prominently on their home page. ;)
Wasn't my question legit? If not, please just ignore! Anyway, to me, it's interesting to compare other people's new site's success with mine.
