Let's recap:
Normal dance:
Five days into it and it is almost over with index moving across the other 7 main data centers.
So far, 7 days into this PRE-DANCE:
The SJ data has not started to migrate to the other 7 main data centers. FI not included.
I have not seen sj results show up on www in over 3 days now.
www2 and www3 all are pointed to the IP of sj.
I've seen it mentioned that we have been privy to a part of the dance we normally don't see and I would be inclined to agree with that.
I don't think we will see the real dance start for a couple days at least. It's not a real dance anyway until all the data is applied, so I think we are all going to see a big shift from what the SJ server is showing and what will actually be in the index.
I find it funny that GoogleGuy has disappeared. I think they rolled out the new algo to get our opinions. Most searchers don't bother to fill out a satisfaction report. They just go somewhere else. In that respect, Google has a great asset in this community because they sure got a lot of feedback about what was on the SJ server. I think when the dance really starts in earnest, we'll see GoogleGuy show up again.
Anyway, back to work adding content for the next deep crawl

it seems the most bloated index is SJ. however based on alot of what i've been reading around here, you would expect the next/new index to de-bloating to a degree, with new filters here, new things there, etc.... so -sj is suspect in that case...
if all the other googles hiding in their cubicles (databases) are waiting -fi to catch up with them, than i guess we still have a ways to go before final propagation of uptdate to www.

WebMistress, I'm seeing the same thing. Still Fresh updates with some very interesting results for pages that just went up, like overnight.
I'm kind of wondering if updates will eventually sneak onto www without being noticeable, there are such constant changes.
sticking with www. as a general rule... probably really good advice. or else face complete infatuation, than obsession, and than turn into something not human....
Why did Google allow us to start seeing all of this STUFF many days ago? Well, we all know the answer to THAT.
And what do we get for all of this profound input? Pain.

Hey, you know what I think? I think Google's servers are BROKE - especially -sj and -fi - and they can't find a way to stop us from seeing all of this. That would explain the strange things we're seeing, now wouldn't it!

Just checked -fi and the missing site has come back since yesterday at #4 rather than it's #1 on www. Hopeful sign...

Somewhat bemused, but also fascinated to watch (pre-)Dominic, or whatever it is.
that seems weird considering both designations ping to the same IP, and have been. it should be exactly the same data.
if you're going to watch. money seems to be on the -fi action, and www...... at the moment. -sj seems to have fallen out of favor lately.. too bad, there were some good results on there for us that are no longer on -fi for us.... so the google cookie is crumbling at the moment.
where's that new optimizer utility on google.com?

we have white text internal navigation links on our home page, in a table with a blue background, but on a white page....
Is Google checking table background colors, not just page backgrounds, to determine "invisible text" technical fouls and basis for ejection?
we would think the answer has to be yes... but just checking..
I wasn't to sure about the updates that have been going on as I don't have as much knowledge as most of the posters here.
I judge my SEO sucess by how much traffic (which also means sales) comes through. Normally I expect the week days to be slow, but start to pickup on Friday morning and carry on until Sunday evening. This is on multiple sites, same IP, different markets.
Well today my traffic is down, big time. But the same punters are out there looking for the same stuff, so now they're finding it somewhere else. I don't think I've broken any rules, but for the same searches I'm seeing traffic from yahoo - but not from google.
This is not a whine, I'm just very confused.

I'm pretty sure that theBear would go for some beef too. I've seen bears eat buffalo and elk.
The BigDave went for fish today because it just seemed like too good of a day to not spend a couple of hours out on the water.
Even if your food there at the Plex is that good, it would just be too tough to get back into the working world grind.
