Nothing personal to other members here, but maybe there should only be a small group of people (Brett and moderators, etc.) who are allowed to post an "update has started" thread. This way, there are no more extremely annoying false alarms. I'm not saying the people who said they saw changes were making it up or are out of their mind. I'm just saying if you think you see an update, keep it to yourself. If it truly 100% is the update, Brett or a moderator will post the official thread within minutes (or probably seconds, heh) of it.

Maybe it's a stupid idea, but seeing another incorrect update has started thread every time I refresh the board is very, uh... not so good. Again, I don't mean to insult anyone, just a thought.

::From my experience.

And what is your experience and acceracy rate again?!

::"I SEEN IT!"

uggg, means one more week before the dance starts, unless some one with better credibility actually sees it to! :):):)

Google Update sightings should be included in the Guiness Records along with UFO and Elvis sightings. A study confirmed that these occurences usually coincide with bar room closing times during a single monthly lunar period.

Just kick back and watch what happens in the next few hours... I seen it, Ive been waiting for it. And its started. Noone knows how or what google is doing, but this is how updates usually start.

I think some people forget that there are many data centres that don't necessarily all have the same data, and you don't always get shunted to the same one every time, (if I remember that correctly from stuff I've read here in the past).

Perfection, it might be an idea but it would keep the mods pretty busy... I suppose you could come up with a filter of some sort. Maybe it's easier just to take all those posts with a grain of salt until it's obviously underway.

AceIsHigh, you called it for the 3rd, it's the 5th. How many more "few hours"? I'm sleepy but I'm with you.

egad, got the frestbot about 45 minutes ago. It's Official, no dance for atleast a few days.

:::Just kick back and watch what happens in the next few hours

AcesHigh, what's your definition of a few fours?!

freshBot: 64.68.82.* bah, listed for only a few days, short dinner date then it dumps you.
deepcrawler: 216.239.46.* Good bot, it likes you, listed until death do you depart. So don't make him mad or it will divorce your site. You can divorce the Googlebot by using your robot.txt file. It's much cheaper and faster than going to the courts.

Well, I know for a fact when the Dance starts.

That would be so funny if the two "dances" started at the same time.
