Good for me too, last two days were very bad and today (1st November) the same trend continues.

It could be the ad balancer, but it could also be bots. You'll know in a few days when the end of month clawback occurs.

Might not be a bad day today after all. Normally, CPC starts off high and then drops. However, today it started off a bit lower and now is rising and stands at 20p at the moment. Fingers crossed, it could be a good day. It's only 11 o'clock in the morning Eastern Standard Time so we've still got over 12 hours of potential earning.

Friday was great, but Saturday is really slow in every way.

I see Black Friday Ads Everywhere! and earnings were strong. But that's done now... Let's hope X-Mas shoppings ad fill the gap.

But we have new a problem! BIG PROBLEM - Flash Player is no longer supported by default by Chrome, you now need to opt in for each domain. What does this have to do with Adsense you may ask? Well some advertisers haven't gotten the message and are still creating Flash based ads, so now instead of an ad the browser displays the message "Click to Enable Flash Player". I reckon today is going to be stellar. Page RPM £3.54 and my CPC is 24p.

Flash and Flash based ads sucks, it is a meme in 2017!

Yesterday pageview dropped but Black Friday saved the AdSense. Two good days with AdSense and today's start is good as well.

@NickMNS - just a FYI the image link you posted just displays imgur ad to install their app. Very persistent.

Yes Chrome 62. I got the message but some advertisers have not. What puzzle's me is that AdWords is allowing Flash creatives to be published. More so, I aggressively running ad-blancer with a 50% setting and those ads are still getting through. I can only image that those not running ad-balancer must be seeing far more of them than me.

I am still confused how ad balancer works, lets say u have 1000 visits which generates 2000 page views and ad balsncer showing that with 60% visibility u will still get 99% revenue, so then basically u dont need 1000 visits you only need 600 to generate same revenue without adjusting ad balancer ?

I am a little confused as well on how it works. Maybe when it says showing 60% visibility, that means 60% of the available ads that would be shown if you were had it on 100%. So in theory, maybe you would get more of one particular ad showing if the percentage was lower. I really don't have any idea, and I don't know whether it's helped with my revenue either. I must say that the last few days have been improving. Today looks like another good day with CPC a lot higher than it has been. However, I also and a little bit more with media.net so it doesn't necessarily point to ad balance.

Another variation : maybe it means that 60% out of 100% are good traffic, then the rest 40% doesnt generate any revenue at all or very minimum, so instead of showing whole 100% we will show only 60% to people who generate (click) revenue and dont bother with rest 40%. If this is the case than probably the rest 40% wont make you much on other networks too.

I would be more inclined to link it to the start of the holiday shopping season with Black Friday (and Cyber Monday tomorrow). My RPM always goes up about 30% around this time, then falls back in early January. Tis the season!

Ad Balance 101:
Google looks at the bids that you are receiving for your inventory and ranks them on price. If you set the ad-balancer to 60% it will show only the top 60% highest priced ads, the remaining inventory will go unfilled. Now in regards to the impact on earnings, if there is low demand for your inventory, at 60% fill rate you may still obtain 99% of earnings. What this means is that the remaining 40% of demand was from advertisers that were unwilling to pay a high price for clicks or views and for which the quality of ads was so low that it was unlikely to get any clicks.

If you simply go to ad-review and block the low quality ads, you will simply end-up with more different low quality ads that will replace them. This is because Adsense works on auction basis. The highest bidder gets to show their ad. If you block the ad, the next highest bidder get the slot, so you get a lower quality ad or an ad at a lower price. Ad-Balance sets a price floor (relative price) such that if advertisers are unwilling to meet the price floor the ad unit goes unfilled. It is relative, because it is based on the level of demand as opposed to a fix price. If it were a fixed price one could see wild fluctuations in coverage (fill rate). Say you set the floor a $0.15 and the market takes dive, and no one is bidding higher than $0.10 per click, then you would have a zero fill rate. So managing the floor and the market would require a considerable amount of work, attention and information. But instead Ad-Balancer uses relative measure, the top 60th percentile of ads. If the market dives it adjust the price accordingly say to $0.07, but if the market climbs it moves up to $0.50 but the top paying ad will always be shown.

The advantage of this is that much of the low quality spammy ads are blocked, and the remaining ads are high paying ads. So users will not be distracted by crap and will be more likely to notice the good ads.

This is not directly related to the users so it is not that if you 1000 users only 600 will see ads. Instead the 1000 users will only 60% of the potential ads they could have seen without the ad-balancer. One negative side effect that some have seen in the intitial roll-out early in the year is that sites with a diverse global users base could see users from low paying location such as India being shown almost no ads, while US users see 100% of ads. I am not sure if this has been corrected in the newly rolled out version. Similarly, the Ad-Balancer is set on an account basis, so users with multiple web-sites could see high demand sites showing 100% ads while low demand sites showing almost no ads. Again I am not sure if this has been resolved.

Earnings doubled while traffic is down. Black Friday and Cyber Monday changed everything! :D

Black Friday and Cyber Monday changed everything!

Changed everything into nothing for me!

Sunday saw my second lowest-ever AdSense PVs in 14 years, absolutely dire, today's PVs have already sailed way past Sunday however no one is clicking on anything, if these earnings continue into December then I'll get nowhere near the minimum payment.

November has been one long effort to achieve anything but basically from 17/18th onwards it has been sliding into oblivion.

And before anyone says anything it has been several MONTHS since I last posted about how bad my "earnings" were ... oh for the minimum wage per DAY let alone hour!

Burger flipping is positively rich man's wages compared to AdSense for me:-(

Some pages/sites just don't get the type of traffic that benefits from these sale events.

2 of my sites made lots of money over the last couple days and one site made less than a normal weekend.

I totally agree, I had a completely normal Thanksgiving day presumably because of people viewing our expensive "retail" products that are available, since then I assume they've all been buying heavily discounted stuff from wherever.

So, I've taken the decision today to close/amalgamate about 20 sites and my reasoning is that localisation is simply going to make things more and more difficult for global suppliers. I can drive as much "garbage" traffic through generic trade portals compared to my own all singing and dancing websites, effectively Google has destroyed traffic to sites such as mine ... And there I was a few years ago advising my daughters what a website building future they had ... I know nothing and I haven't known that very long!

Unbelievable diabolically low EPC today averaging 2p/2.6 cents per click, it's totally and utterly fubard for me.

That isn't necessarily a problem. On our site, for example, we get affiliate bookings from readers around the world, and a visitor from India who makes an affiliate booking pays the same as a visitor from the U.S who does the same. So, for us, it would be better to serve those Indian users a house ad for content that generates affiliate sales than to serve them low-paying AdSense ads.

Whew, this was a pretty good Cyber Monday. About 8% better than last year's, in terms of revenue. Not as much as I'd hoped with +23% traffic, but still it's the #2 all-time highest-earning day so a pretty strong start of the shopping season, and on course to break that #1 record in early December.

Expecting a traditionally early payout in December, too. Happy Holidays :-)

I haven't had any one day that was a particular stand-out. But, November as whole has been really strong. This could potentially be my best ever month, if not it will certainly be a close second. That said much of the strength is the result of consistently high traffic.

It's weird, because I've been playing with the ad balance as of late, and the lower I set it, the more money I'm making. So I'm guessing I had an astonishingly high number of junk ads previously. Great job on Google's part, regardless.

Adsense earnings are very variable, one can fully attribute an increase in earnings to any single action over the span of a few days. This applies to Ad-Balancer or any other change.

That said, suppressing low-quality ads allows users to focus on the high value ads, more clicks and each clicks should be worth more.

That last week has been amazingly good. I don't know if it's ad balancer or something else, but it's very nice,
