Good for me too, last two days were very bad and today (1st November) the same trend continues.

Anyone else here noticing a really big decrease in cpm starting october 30th?
Cpms are down by about 30% starting since October 30th, this is on 2 sites with high xxx a day earnings each.

Yesterday was a bit better than previous 3 days, which were poor for me, 30% down on what I'd have expected...

Interesting but same here, TheEnigma. Nov 3 was certainly better than Nov 1 and Nov 2 for me and I was also down about the same as you.

We have a drastic drop in earnings since Nov 2.
A deeper look into the data showed we no longer get rich-media type ads from AdSense, which dropped CTR while impressions stay the same.

Since we did not have ads.txt implemented it is currently our prime suspect:
"We believe the ads.txt standard is a significant step forward in the fight against ad fraud, and by the end of October, DoubleClick Bid Manager will only buy a publisher’s inventory from sources identified as authorized sellers in its ads.txt file when a file is available."
[doubleclick-advertisers.googleblog.com...]

but we're totally lost here...
Anyone else on the same boat?

But that shouldn’t affect AdSense because it’s through DoubleClick, right?

November is supposed to be one of the best months out of the the year, what is going on?

Doubleclick's publisher products interface with AdSense directly e.g. via backfill.

Yes. But AdSense isn’t all based around DoubleClick ads right? Most of the ads being served come directly from AdWords?

Grapetimes don't overlook the update that is rolling out. This may have a significant effect on some sites.

Yes, Sunday is very, very bad!
Usually 0.17-0.18 CPC, now 0.14 and CTR going down.

I can't image ads.txt being a factor yet. If it were Google would be blasting us with blogs and emails about using it. I Haven't heard a peep from them.

But he had ad ads.txt file to begin with. Because that restricts advertisers. You can't restrict if you don't have an ads.txt file to begin with. So if you have one, yeah, you better add google, but you shouldn't be hit by penalties if you don't even have the file yet. If the file in general is critical outside of DP then Google would make that know extremely clear as they lose out too.

Sorry I don’t understand, how many ads.txt have a possible impact on AdSense publishers in the future?

@Grapetimes [webmasterworld.com...]

Also...
you are not required to use ads.txt, and there will be no impact to your earnings if you don't implement it. However, if an ads.txt file is added to your root domain, make sure you reach out to your webmaster and ask them to add your publisher ID to the file.

So after diving deeper into my stats, it looks like it is mainly my mobile / tablet traffic that is receiving the massive cpm decrease. Mainly based around Text ads, my text ads ctr not only dropped drastically, but the amount of impressions I am receiving compared to other ad types decreased a lot as well. Not sure if there is some kind of bug or something happening, or adsense testing things. What makes me think it could possibly be a bug as Since November 1st one of my domains took the text ads ctr / impressions hit and continued on the 2nd, but then on the 3rd the ctr / impressions went back close to similar numbers. Then it dropped back down on the 4th. Curious if anyone is seeing similar results.

Having the same issue starting from October 31st in the same pattern.

Apparently for me it's because Nessie Arrows are missing from Tablet devices since October 31st which affects the CTR. It came back on the next day and again gone within 6-8 hours but I never had Nessie Arrows removed in Tablet before. My CTR is same as before.

The first few days of November has been quite a bit down on what I am used to. CPC has been ridiculously low. Rpm has been slightly lower but clicks are well up. Today is looking slightly more promising with a CPC of 16p

This is turning out to be a pretty good Monday morning. The Ad-Balancer is working again! and I got a $10 click. I wish I could start every morning off with a $10 click...

... Let's hope it sticks and doesn't get clawed back!

Something about Comcast being down in parts of the nation today. My connection was on and off all morning.

Looks like today isn't going to be too bad after all. CPC isn't particularly high, but clicks are building up which hopefully will make up the difference.

November looking so far like some kind of recovery after the debacle of October.

It started getting better on Nov 3 onwards.

I hope it sticks.
