Good for me too, last two days were very bad and today (1st November) the same trend continues.

Welcome @papux, hope you enjoy your stay here.

As of now, ads.txt is optional. However, most people think it might become mandatory later on. So it's up to you if you want to implement it yet or not. I still haven't uploaded an ads.txt file and everything seems fine for now. As for ad balance, it will be most beneficial to use it if you either want to improve user experience on your site by showing less ads, or if you have a backup ad network set up that will replace the low quality Adsense ads that the ad balance will prevent from showing.

Google has temporarily removed ucbrowser from playstore.
For the uninitiated, this browser has a built in adblocker and seems to be very popular in India. (30% traffic to my sites)

I hope this removal has something to do with adblocking.

They have removed it from play store but the existing users can still use it, so we are not going to make any extra money.

I had UC Browsers installed on desktop, tablet and mobile for testing purposes however it became very unstable and last week, I think, the new Malwarebytes flagged it for "pups" so I simply removed it from all machines.

No clicks today, very weird. Gone from 1.40% CTR to 0.74%

added ads.txt 3 days ago and it made 0 difference in my rpm. So i am fairly convinced its an account penalty that is causing my massive drop in income from late sept.

What's wrong with organic traffic? Most of my traffic is organic which is a good thing as far as I concerned. My keywords are obviously working well.

Saturday was strange... very low car, but big CPC, so a good day.
Sunday is very, very low in all figures.

My traffic is down by about 10 - 12 percent. However, the earnings are about the same.
The site gets 55% of its traffic from Google alone. Other search engines also send traffic, so mostly organic traffic overall.

It's a pretty low traffic site though. About 8 - 10k pageviews per day according to adsense, although significantly higher traffic reports from Awstats.
Awstats reports more like 30 - 35k per day.

Does anyone have that much of a disparity in their traffic report sources?

@MrJefe Maybe you should try Analytics and Statcounter? They both works pretty well for my site.

All the time, I have used several different stats programmes over the years with AdSense definitely always showing the lowest numbers. I have had genuine visitors to my sites viewing many pages and AdSense has not counted 10% of the PVs. I assume that's because they were specialist low-traffic sites and G simply didn't want to serve-up ads.

Statcounter's fine as an all-round indicator, Awstats seems to record everything and anything that hits the server and seemingly filters out most of the bots etc.

I've not let this disparity in numbers bother me in years.

Server logs don't lie. Adsense PVs are always 10% to 20% lower than what my server reports.

I can only assume that Adsense reports do not count much of the recognized bot traffic.

Yeah, it's always been like this for the nine years or so I've used Adsense.
I'll try statcounter and see.

@MrJefe, 55% traffic from Google is pretty good i believe, how long did it take to reach such numbers ?

My site is almost 4 years old, and i get 5 or 10% at most from Google.

I agree, today is horrible. I've no doubt I will get plenty of clicks, however, at 8p, the CPC is not going to cause any excitement whatsoever.

@andymorris

This particular site will be 5 years old in January. I think at around 2 years, I was getting about 25% from Google.
Then about 10% increase each year after that.

I targeted some keywords strongly before there was competition for them.
So I have dominated those for the last 2 years, since they got popular.

This is a gift and a curse, because if the keyword loses traction, the site traffic would suffer a huge blow.
