Good for me too, last two days were very bad and today (1st November) the same trend continues.

I have also got bank ads on each site I have added ads.txt but failed to add google as a direct source.

This is a message on the google ads.txt support page:

Domains where an ads.txt file is posted, but the seller’s publisher ID is not authorized in the file are no longer monetized through Ad Exchange, and Google no longer buys ads on such sites. To prevent impact to your earnings, we recommend updating your ads.txt files to include publisher IDs for each site you want to monetize (learn how to update ads.txt in DFP). If you use Network Partner Management, we recommend working with your network partners to include your publisher ID in their ads.txt files.

I have adsense and a couple of other ad servers on my site. Yesterday, November 10, one of the other companies (Conversant) beat Adsense revenue by nearly 5:1.

Yes, you are reading that correctly. For every dollar ($1) of Adsense revenue, conversant delivered $5 (FIVE). Five to one, people. Time to start diversifying? I'd think so.

Reading this thread and the posts on ads.txt (something of which I've received no notification or warning or support from Google) I've finally reached the point at which I am not putting any more Adsense ads on any new pages and will likely be removing them from pages I am updating.

I've been using Adsense since 2003 and it's only gotten worse over time. Lower revenues almost every month for the past two years. It's sickening, really, that these masters of the universe steal so blatantly, without any regard toward the publishers who trusted them.

Trust is a thing of the past when it comes to dealing with multi-national corporations like Google. /rant.

Peace.

I'm seeing blank adsense ads as well. I've had my ads.txt live since October. Obviously my revenue is way down since ads aren't showing. Any idea what's causing the blank ads?

It can be low inventory...
See the coverage % on your reports.

@fearlessrick i might try them out as my RPM has been #*$! on and off since April. Especially since the end of Sept through today... Earnings at 30-50% what they should be/have been. I have been a publisher with adsense for over a decade and have seen a drop off since 2012.. but this year is ridiculous. I am confident they are removing a huge amount of valid clicks.

One of my site that is sensitive to low inventory issues (as shown in the % coverage but also ads sometimes simply not displaying on the site) is really reaching a record low % coverage in the past 2-3 months, nearing now 80%. Just last year at the same time, it was around 97%-98%. I see that site as my yellow canary [en.wikipedia.org] with regards to supply side of ads.

@Mentat - lower than normal. Guessing there's not a lot I can do when this happens? 82% vs 97% normally

Why is November so bad, wasn't it supposed to be a good month as Holiday season is almost here?

For the third month in a row my finalised earnings have certainly increased a few days into the new month. It's just dawned upon me that maybe it's the earnings I get from YouTube. What you guys reckon?

Fearlessrick is definitey speaking for himself, because my AdSense earnings have been increasing since 2012. Five digit months over here every month since February. AdSense is alive and well.

@child please - agreed. Adsense returns are healthy for many. Those posting are often frustrated and don't always make up a balanced cross section of publishers.

Today is good, planning to enable Ad balancer tomorrow.

@child_please I too have seen my monthly earnings grow since I began in late 2013. But the growth is the result of increased traffic to my site. How much of your growth is attributable to traffic growth?

My earnings for the past two days have moved into high gear. I made just two changes: I added an ads.txt file to each of my sites. I reactivated Ad Balancer. I suspect it's Ad Balancer that's having the positive effect.

Has anyone else noticed no arrows on mobile text ads or very little text ads on mobile?

It's a low market. I'm full of this kind of ads:
- chinese clothing online shops (.com domains)
- chinese gadget online shops (.com domains)
- chinese online games
- fake download buttons with adware for.... free.
- "Increase your size" ads (I block a new domain each day, all redirect to the same original domain).

I know that in the US was Memorial Day but in the rest of the world?

After placing ads.txt, and using Ad Balancer again (at 85%), RPM increasing around 15-20%. (15-20K unique visitors daily.)

My RPM is down by almost 20% after Ad Balance setting to 69/100 from last four days.

Should I wait for things to get better or return to 100/100?

You are talking about Ad Balance.

Set it to 85% and wait one day. (I tried it with many settings, this seems to be the best for my sites.)

@hindifun
AdSense earnings tend to be very variable, you can have big shifts from day to day. It is extremely difficult to attribute any daily shift in earnings to any one action. So one is best not to fiddle with ad-balancer set and forget it, then measure performance over longer period, a week (minimum) or month. The tool itself uses some predictive algorithm. playing with it frequently will likely impact its performance and you will have no way of knowing what is causing what.

Thank you! I have been receiving that same msg in my acct since last week. Thought I was the only one. Adsense support told me to wait : /

@Ironside I set it at 85% too for 100% of earnings. I'm in the grid area and could probably move it back to 75% into the better user experience area, but I don't want to touch it. The performance and revenue of over the weekend was excellent. Curious to see if it continues during the work week.

It's funny, but it doesn't matter how much you play around & adjust the ad balance, the Google ads still show on the website

@Ironside what you see and what your users see are two different things. To see the impact of the ad-balancer one needs to check coverage in performance report. That will show you exactly how many ads appeared or didn't.

Yes, I know that other people will see completely different ads from me. Most of my visitors come from the US so the ads that are displayed are not UK related. I suppose I'm being shown Google ads because there's nothing relevant and rather than showing a blank space Google ad is put there instead.

@Ironside, no your are being shown ads because there is strong demand for the UK impressions. If there was nothing "relevant" then you would not have been shown an ad.

It always puzzles me as to who actually clicks on these Google ads. I have tried blocking Google before but they always seem to show up no matter how hard you try and stop them.
