PageRank Update - Jan 2007

Google PageRank appears to be changing - has anyone noticed their Google PageRank changing? For the last 2 days my PageRank appears to be dropping by 1 but then at other times, it appears as the same as it's been for the past 2 months.

I've checked other places and they say the old PageRank but maybe we're on the verge of another PageRank change?

Anyone notice this?

I haven't seen any actual changes in the toolbar, but I'm seeing some changes in the urls that Webmaster reports as being the highest ranking page.

At what Datacenter?

To find out the IP please follow these simple steps:

(if you run Windows) Start -> Execute -> cmd
ping toolbarqueries.google.com

For everyone on a Mac:

To ping toolbarqueries.google.com, launch the Network Utility application found in Applications>Utilities

then select the Ping tab, enter toolbarqueries.google.com in to the window, make sure to send only 10 pings, not unlimited (no need to upset the big G) and hit "Ping"

My sites are down 1 tbpr (4->3 and 3->2) at 72.14.203.147. Another pr5 site is unchanged, but most interior pages are down.

quick question:

after you change the ip of toolbarqueries in your hosts file, what has to be done to activate it? (WinXP) (other than a reboot)

No reboot is needed. Once you save the hosts file, the changes are instant.

I thought so and yet when I ping toolbarquerries it still shows the old IP.

Anyway, to the original question, I checked about 45 DC's online and see no changes to any of my sites or those I monitor...

But my Homepage was out of google index and all the terms powered by Homepage disappeared

I can confirm that PR update seems on the way. One of my sites went from 4 to 5. It is already visible at 216.239.51.99.

Been checking throughout the day and no changes showed at all for me. Strange because every "pagerank forecaster" has put my next PR rise from 3 up to 5 or 6 on the main site I'm looking for a PR rise on. (No PR is useless lectures please ;)
