Anyway, since this thread is just drifting pointlessly, no worries, might as well waste some of my own bytes.
"I have succeeded in my eyes!"
What you're arguing has been argued far better in past threads, far more in depth, and with actual reasoning attached to the points. Look them up, you might learn something.
Amazing how easy it is to be come addicted! - having said that there has been some interesting and educational food for thought in the various comments IMO.
Greed - don't we all want more? Isn't that why we're here?

For me it's not addiction so much as not wanting to read through 400 postings all at once, I tried that a few days ago, that was even worse than just keeping up with it, though it is too bad matt cutts has not blessed the world with the pronouncement of jagger 3 live.
But, as usual, picked up some interesting stuff scattered here and there in the thread.
If I may, I would like to ask an invigorating question regarding the SERPs that came back. Did they come back because they had a penalty specifically on them that was lifted, or because of the new algo/update recalculating them and giving them the respect they deserve? Penalty or Reranked?
Reason I ask this is because we did take some steps to fix things (like reinclusion request, undo G sitemaps, fix non-www, etc), and now can't accurately guess whether it's our actions or new algo. And if you recall, we did launch an already planned make-over of our site last Sunday.
