Chiyo,

Where did that News come from, your message seems to having spelling mistakes in it including the spelling of Reuters not (reutars). Did you not cut and paste the story?

The Times - London

"U.S.A. cut off".

Reports are coming in that many of the colonies cannot see the latest information from the UK because of the apparent failure of Google to update it's index. Panic is rampant as without guidence from Tony Blair and members of the cabinet, the U.S. Foriegn Policy is in turmoil. Fashion, commerce and entertaiment centres are desperate for the latest news. It is feared that the States will fall back into the dark ages without the free flow of information, help and support that the U.K. supplies.

God like.. I had to change the Reuters spelling in an edit, just in case someone would take it seriously :)

Hi I also caught the update yesterday, and all the new sites looked awsome.

But this morning they are not in www2. I have never experienced this in an update. Anyone?

This ALWAYS happens ;) It's called the Google Dance. It's fun, funky and fresh. It keeps you on your toes and makes you dance around like some wild donkey on heat.

I saw the Dance begin yesterday evening UK time, but now everything seems the same as before. I have never noticed this happen.

Never seen this particular behavior before, either.

We in the Colonies are a seriously disobedient lot.

Woke up this morning and checked www2 and www3 and was amazed to find that all my new .ASP pages had now been crawled and were on the indexes.

This afternoon (I'm in Bangkok) they made it through to the main index! Good results on my main key phrases.

Late afternoon and they've all gone again.

I'm off to the pub.

No action yet in my category in www2 or www3, but now is the week to make good changes to the web site because the new spidering starts in about
7 - 14 days

Yup, I'm also seeing the new results on www2 and www3. Big increase in the number of inbound links for me. :)

Someone remind me, how do you find the new PR from www2 or 3 again?

YEEEEESSS!!!

www2 and www3 have my site on #1 for my most important keywords. Yikes!

I could not find any inbound links though, but I know this isn't true - there are not too many, but there are at least two dozens site I know of linking to my site - I tried it every way: with or without "www.", with or without "index.shtml" a.s.o. Results: 0.

The links to my page went up from 30 to 1000+ !!
Most of them (about 90%) are inside links, but still.
Stayed the same for my top 3 key phrases (at position 1-5), but I now have number 1 position on about 500 smaller key phrases.

My day's ok ;).

I'm seeing new results on www.

Also, My description is a combination of the meta description and the the first line of content on the page.

Yup, same here. Every search term I can think of my sites shows the new results on www.

As far as the descriptions, they don't seem to have changed for me, that is the meta tags are still ignored.

I think the meta tags are always ignored as far as google is concerned. The only thing it may use is a dmoz description for your homepage, otherwise it will pick bits of text out that contain the keywords you are searching for

But my site is not in DMOZ yet.

I'm actually seeing meta descriptions being displayed more frequently in this update. This, in spite of the fact that the pages are content rich. I think its apparent that more attention will have to be paid to meta descriptions now with regard to Google.

The first result for one of my keywords is a 404 with no title and no description. Hope they still clean up the results, but they seem to be stable...

Got my new site listed in ODP last month and has now appeared in Google on www2 and www3 this month.

Have got #1 for my main two-word keyphrase but #30 for the prime keyword.

Also my site has a PR of 0. Is this because it has just been added?

If I have 0 inbound links from other sites will my page rank stay at 0?
