rfgdxm1,
The reason Google may not have any of your editor links is:

http;//dmoz.org/robots.txt

PR Down across the entire domain with the exeption of one subdirectory (major inbound link reduced and further diluted), SERPs down, dropped from #1 and #17 to non-existant on 2 similar (no idea why). No dirty tricks or spamming, site had been fairly steady for 4 months after climbing steadily for another 4.

Guess I need to put some overtime into a link campaign NOW. Looks like I might starve this month. ;)

No. ODP editor profile pages are in the form of dmoz.org/profiles/editorname.html. Many editors have profiles that show up in backlinks. It just so happens my editor profile is one of those where some of the categories that I edit aren't showing up as backlinks as they should. For an example, check link:dmoz.org/profiles/rdkeating25.html. For those unfamiliar, rdkeating25 is the big boss in charge of the ODP. Curiously enough, now some more of the backlinks to my editor profile are showing. However, for some odd reason Google seems confused and thinks I edit Arts/Celebrities/ Q/Quinlan,_Kathleen, which I don't. I'm not sure what is going on. It is possible it isn't Google didn't find the backlinks, but the link: command is buggy.

Emailed webmaster@google.com earlier last month to ask for a reinclusion appraisal (thanks for the info GG) & I've noticed the PR's gone from PR0 to grey bar. Would any of the longer serving members be able to agree with me that this is a good sign, or am I leaping to conclusions too early (before I mail the customer with a congrats note)

hmmm, PR back up and back in the serps, minor slippage in a couple, major gains in a few (into 2 digits from no where).

Maybe this one is going to go on a while longer?

Still need to hit the link gathering overtime..

Maybe I won't starve...

Hmmm...I'm befuddled. I have a brand new site that has just been indexed with this update. However, when I search for it under my two main keyphrases I can't even find it in the top 1000?! I know, I know, it's a new site some of you will be saying...but I have followed EVERY one of Brett's 26 steps to a tee and have done nothing illegal! I have a couple dozen inbound links with proper anchor text (keyword rich) and some of those sites are PR5 or more too. Did I miss something here? Or is it normal for a new site to be indexed and not found anywhere in the SERP's? Thanks for your answers!

Dave
p.s. I need concrete answers..none of this, "It's just a new site, be patient" stuff.

AthlonInside,

Sorry but you'll have to get to the back of the queue and wait your turn..
There's only 1 milliontwohundredandtwentytwothousandthreehundredandsixtyfour of us in front of you - so my advice is go and put the kettle on and make yourself a nice cup of tea while you are waiting.
Good luck though mate.
