I know that it's early but one of my sites just had about 40 pages indexed. Has this happened to anyone else?

My backlink number has changed.

But a check on www www2 www3 for yahoo showed the same number for each database so I think it may be to early.

I just looked and a bunch of new pages were added from one of the sites I take care of (that should have had noindex,nofollow) with today's date - and they're found in the SERPs for search phrases, which I sure didn't expect right off. Looks suspicious, I'll check some more. I've been on edge, feeling an early update coming on.

Could well be a false alarm, but it's worth checking more at this point.

It just seemed odd to me. This is the first time that I have had this many pages added without a major update.

That minty freshness really does seem to be improving. I've found not only are my sites popping up with fresh tags all over the place but some searchs I've done have provided me with very recent (and useful) information. So both as a webmaster and a regular surfer, I'm happy :)

hmmm, the alt tags for my logo have been used in the description for my "minty fresh" listing. They are no where else on the page except in the alt tag. I've never noticed this before, is it new?

One of my pages shows today's cache (minty fresh), another page which showed cache from September 12th earlier today now shows cache from August 6th. So one page got minty fresh today, the other went from pretty fresh to stale. Why not keep September 12th instead of reverting back to August 6th?

yankee, different algorithms lead to different pages becoming fresher. Expect to see some things like that as we experiment to get maximum minty flavor.

My pages has got a new cache every 3-4 days this month and the number of sites indexed in Google changes every day even if I have a PR0 I dont know why I got a PR0 I hope that change back to the usual PR4-5 next update, but it just shows that a PR0 also get a frech cache.

I've been fluctuating all month between no pages with a fresh tag (except the cache seems to keep the newer version if the page had been freshed at some point) to over 50 fresh pages. And, everything in between. Yesterday I had none with dates, today I've got nearly 40. Tomorrow, it's likely that some of those will vanish, and even more the next day. If the trend continues as it has, I'll be down to 5-6 pages in 4-5 days and on the 6th or 7th day, they'll bump back up again....

New page added friday evening, sunday logs show Google referrals to that page. Ranked well for relevant phrases, position did not change throughout the week. To me this is major news. Good luck, Google people!

Last month google spidered like a mad man on August 20th. The update started the next day. Get those shoes on, tomorrow is the big day!

Relax. When the update happens, there will be major changes between www2/3 and www. And one of the mods will be announcing it. The mods don't want to see pre-update chatter.

Don't we all get a little antsy when the update is close? I feel like I'm sitting on the edge of my seat every month, wishing it would start already and at the same time trying to get last minute things done. Then when it starts I think of half a dozen things I should have done and forgot to or ran out of time for.

I'm right in the middle of a redesign and just decided to set up the directory structure on 2 sites I'd like to get up in time. I can't wait, but still wish there was a week left.

My site dropped today :( and the cache shows an old version of the site.

Im with you girl! If only I had one week left... it is 1230 am on the East Coast and I will be going strong for another 3 hours, hoping, hoping big time that this is gonna get in the update somehow, someway... I have so many new products to add on.. can never get it all done , I need a week but alittle here, alittle their and if my PR boosts like I hope and think it should.. well hard work, longggggg hours will hopefully pay off... then once i get over that high I can keep plugging away 12-15 hours a day again and get ready for the next one and the holidays... gotta get everything just how we need it for Santa.... so hopefully we can be Santa and not just some poor, struggling, greasy, poor, over worked, hopeful, did I mention Poor? :) struggling SEO. :)

PS.. I cant check logs but am wondering if anyone knows.. will our site get crawled during the update and spit out to show at the end of the update? Meaning the work I do today,the new additions to the site right before the update, will google spider during the first day or days of the dance, find the new additions to the site and show them in the www at the end of the dance? Does anyone know? Is this anyones guess?
