Thanks. And, the new sister site apparently is doing well from the PR it must have picked up from my link to it on the main site (so far, because it is so new I haven't asked others to link to the new site yet.)
>This is so nerve racking... I wish Google would update every week and not monthly...
Or at least every 2 weeks. Well, I guess we can at least dream, right? ;)
My first impression is that PageRank seems to be less important. We went from PR5 to PR7 on some pages but rankings only increased slightly.
It seems that there are more dynamic URLs in the index. I can see several inbound links for our sites with "?" in the URL that haven't been indexed before.
The toolbar seems no longer to request XML files. (At least they are no longer cached by IE.) I looks like PageRank values are now transmitted to the toolbar in a simple text file which has only few other information in it.
G.
Apart from that some others that I watch have had title changes back in July and I've not seen any change there either.
Perhaps this is a prelude to the storm.. Well I hope so anyhow.

Not a happy update for me, here'e the coup:
Is that last point a duplicate content penalization because my links are inconsistent?
Cheers
Nick
When I do find them I get 2 listings mysite.com/index.php and mysite.com/Is that last point a duplicate content penalization because my links are inconsistent?
No - this isn't a duplicate and wouldn't class as a penalization. Had it been mysite.com and mysitemirror.com then fair enough. But Google always displays the front of a site it's indexed ie. mysite.com and then sometimes chooses a path/page to display as well such as mysite.com/privacypolicy.html etc right below it.
It has not been an accurate predicter of updates ;)
That said, the full moon is officially tomorrow night.
On one 3 word search where we were coming 10th out of 26000 we've moved up to 6th, so I'm guessing a PR increase is on the cards.
Just unfortunate I didn't get the new version of the site up in time for this month's update, just went up day before yesterday. Now I have to bite my nails for another month before I see what it will mean for us.
Special thanks go to everyone here who has given me help.
