Also, some keyword subdomains, like keyword.domain.com/keyword/keyword.htm.
In one case, where I searched for a brand of product, the manufacturer's own site was pushed down in the listings by a bunch of doorway-looking sites. One of these obvious doorway sites has PR7 - that will be interesting to examine in more detail.
rogerd - are the pages you refer to full of non-sense text or are they good content pages? Much of the discussion on this forum is focussed on including keywords in directory, domain and file names in a hyphenated manner to improve relevancy to Google.
I'm in the same DMOZ category that my competitors are in, but Google hasn't gobbled that up yet. The GoogleMOZ doesn't list my site yet. Oh well, September's only a month away. I've got more content than my competitors and google should see that with the next update.
OOOOOOOOIEEEEE!
<does the splits>
NURSE!
front page on the 3.8 million plus single word search...from 42nd to 10th in less than 2 years...and we are still hammering the competition for most of the two word terms we went after...and in all languages other than English (except for German...and I think I'll have that nailed down again next update)
absothingiebeautiful!...I hope it finishes the update like that
Our search terms are not searched a WHOLE lot, compared to gambling, or Spears, but they are huge to us

Hehe....my boss just called and said his phone is ringing of the hook...wants to know what I did!
I told him, "nothing really, just that we've moved to #2 for our keywords."
Come on now, how can people be responding now to any Google WW2 and WW3 search results? Most people don't know that versions WW2 and WW3 even exist. Perhaps if/when those results show up in the Google, Yahoo and AOL searches but not just a day after the Google Dance has begun.
Therefore, I would be very reluctant to take credit for the phone action at this point. After answering a few of the calls your boss may learn that they are a result of someone posting his "resume" on some deviate sex forum.
Now that's something you wouldn't want to have taken prior credit for, is it?
Update gone ok for me, slight increase in most phrases....but then by the time it settles ill probably be back just about where i was....which was good anyway!
