HP, so the issue is more with Google search than with Adsense? Loss of traffic = loss of Adsense revenue.
Absolutely, I've been scraped and scraped yet Google has always kept me near the top yet an Italian company scraped me and put in excess of 1,500 links, yes that's one thousand five hundred internal URL links, on his home page and now he's virtually taken over for everything.
I've watched him do it with three other sites exactly the same and Google's ranking him basically #1 and #2 meanwhile I've been crucified and these other guys have too. He has hardly any backlinks whatsoever therefore don't go down that route...I am in on-going discussions with those other Italian companies.
The guy has NO advertising on his site, all he is doing is a scattergun approach and he hopes he'll get an enquiry for some of the products he's ranking for that he can supply since he can't obtain many of those products anywhere...they're mine, they're exclusive, I'll not sell them to him yet Google has decided he's the main man!
I've even created fictious product names yet he plus many Chinese, Indian and USA directories all outrank me for a non-existent product. They've scraped my images, they've scraped my text and in most cases scraped all my code.
Now just how freakin' stupid is this algo?
Best thing to do is to work on getting traffic from other sources. Social, other search engines, direct traffic, advertising, stand on the corner with a sign, newsletter, anything you can think off.
After 18 years we're going back to what we know best and screw Google. We're going back to trade exhibitions where the majority of bulk buyers already know us. The AdSense revenue was nice whilst it lasted, I never could see how it could last ... Why should Google pay me as a middleman for advertising on my trade widget site?
Their policy was to slit my throat thinking that they'd slowly let me bleed to death on the occasional droppings they let pass through, oh just how wrong they were. I have never needed AdSense, those who know me know why I do not need Google, the people I deal with are honourable and definitely do not change their minds what, 500 plus times a year.
Google cannot change itself into a knowledge engine without first acknowledging that not ONE IOTA of "knowledge" they already have they have not created themselves. They do not have one single expert on any single subject matter ... period ... and until the people who are genuinely creating this "knowledge" realise how much they are being screwed-over for less-than-minimum wages and start acting togther as a genuine representative body, then don't say I didn't forewarn you.
They'll keep raping you for your mind and knowledge meanwhile not sharing the proceeds with anyone else ... and for the many Google staff who read here, this means YOU too.
You will be superfluous to requirements when they roll-out their super-automated, machine-learning alorithm that doesn't require you all and if anyone complains that the knowledge is wrong they'll just say "Oh it's just a baby in its learning process, you've got expect the occasional mistake" ...
These could be very human life or death scenarios that they'll just pass-off as "learning" ... Much like friendly fire folks!
