I was searching for a specific explanation why our earnings have dropped drastically in March and found this forum through google. If I may, I would like to add my experience of the last few days and what I think has happened. Either way, google adsense are up to something again as nothing was changed on our site. For the record, we have 2 websites and together they generate around 700 to 800 clicks per day. However, since the last 2 days, we noticed that our main unit the 728x90 has suddently stopped generating any income. When i look into the reports under the option "platform", i notice that the income for this unit for tablets is still at normal levels but for desktops it has totally plummeted.
I started to check the units on our site and noticed that for some reason the text inside the 728x90 unit is showing in really tiny font, i think its like arial 8 or 9 in size. totally rediculous. I decided to change the unit to an image format temporarily figuring google adsense did something again to the design. I also changed this morning the unit back again to text links (which is what works best for us) and now the units show in normal font size again.
As a result of this, the last 2 days we have received an average amount of 150 to 200 clicks so go figure what that does to your income. January was our best month ever with the release of the arrow in the units, that made the CTR really well, but since mid february, cpc went down 30%, and so did CTR. Today, CTR rates are down 70%. Something is very very wrong and this is happening on both of our sites only with the 728x90 unit.
Just wanted to share this with you guys as there is always a reason. I know allot of people say march is a bad month because of no competition on the bidding end and all that stuff, but going down in income 70% in just 2 days means there is definately something wrong. I emailed support and a contact I have from google adsense, hopefully they reply soon early next week.
You can see here a screenshot of how my ads are looking for the last 2 days. This morning it seems back again to normal, but the clicks are still performing really bad. I have more visits then usual so and my traffic is still the same in terms of organic leads.

Anyways, im clueless now and totally disgusted after 2 years a hard work of improving your website and all that crap they sell you on the web in order to increase your income. They make a 2 min change and all your work goes down the drainage.
