Besides the constant Adsense engine room tweaks, goofs and deafening silence from the Adsense team, I can't really complain.

The new 2012 low has sort of stabilized on my end - and so far I can cope with this new reality because i don't really depend on it.

Because of the Penguin, Panda turmoil I've suspended new projects, only tweaking existing content a bit. Done nothing spectacular to compensate losses.

On all i lost about 40% revenue with the same traffic, a part because of the economy, a part because of expired content and the rest probably because of the new 2012 SADsense reality.

A new era is ahead - life goes on

But i wonder if Adsense still broke profit records in 2012.....

I just got selected to "benefit" from new payments experience changes. Until now my account was registered in Eastern European country, and the currency was Euro instead of that country's own currency or USD. From what I have read it couldn't be changes... couldn't - by users not the system. Couple of minutes ago my account was changed to the country's own currency without even asking me :-/

[support.google.com...]

We’ve made some changes to improve our payments system, and your account has been included to benefit from these changes. Here's a summary of the required actions, changes and added benefits of the new payments processes:

Google is like the boyfriend who breaks up with you, dates another girl, but still wants to occasionally sleep together.

I prefer to think of the relationship as friends who sleep together. I'll keep sleeping with them as long as it benefits me.

Frustrated as I am with the way things have gone down with AdSense, I don't think they're gaming me. Rather, I think whomever is running the show there is simply incompetent, and aside from netmeg, most of us here are seeing dramatic cuts in earnings because of that lack of leadership.

It's not just Netmeg that's doing well. I suspect there are many others like myself who are doing well but seldom take the time to post in this thread even though I do read it.

Yesterday ended surprisingly well. Today, a Sunday, is looking like all of my Sundays. DEAD, but it's not a shock.

Yesterday earnings ended way down again at about 15% of average. Today so far is dead too.

Well the earnings keep going down despite having more traffic than ever before. I'm making per day what I used to earn with just one of my websites... this sucks! ha ha.

Not ONE click today on all of my sites, only on YouTube which is mere pennies. Stuck?

Ok, there are a few hours left to go however potentially, according to G's Page Views, I am heading for my lowest-ever PV day, that's according to G!

Nevertheless my EPC today has been very good so far and I've already hit July's daily average on a Sunday with a series of US one Dollar clicks.

Has anyone a clue as to what is going on?

Don't ask G since they know absolutely nothing otherwise they wouldn't keep penalising good sites in favour of MFAs and scrapers.

I think if you have Google Search on your pages, you're losing a lot of traffic because of Google's paid ads to the top and sides of the search results. I'm going to remove Google Search from my sites. I'll just go with FreeFind for my static site and Relevanssi for my WP sites.

It pisses me off that they moved the adverts.

I had mine as top and bottom. Now it looks spammy. I have already removed search from 2 sites because of it.

And since they have moved it, my CPC has dropped.

I don't like those ruddy thumbnails next to the results either. They slow things down for one. I just wish they'd leave things alone, or give people a choice.

Another day of AdSense reporting making no sense at all. Click count hasn't budged in hours. I'll be very surprised if earnings break 20% of average today. Ridiculous.

You sure you and I aren't in our own individual Olympic event?

A race to the bottom?

@HuskyPup:

One should learn to not be a smart arxse and make smart comments, they come back to bite you on the bottom.

Today? Much less than one hour in 2003?

On par with Mr Amazon whom I had a marital separation in June 2003.

Mr. Bozos [sic] I love you. All that site real estate I swiftly changed to AdSense in June,2003?

I was wrong Jeff, I humbly apologise for sneering at all those "pocket money" cheques you have regularly sent me since June, 2003.

Life's funny Jeff, for once after nine years? Amazon today delivered me more commission than AdSense. Life's full of reversals.

A race to the bottom?

I'm assuming quite a few visitors came out after F1, the Olympics and MotoGP since although PVs were down compared to a normal weekend there was definitely a 50% increase overnight which is very unusual for my sites.

Sunday ended up with a 108.1% day v July's average thanks to some healthy click values from the US and UK.

If, if, if today and tomorrow end up average I will actually have beaten June's earnings which would be the first time I have had a better month since April 2011, albeit some 3% of a few years ago.

Has the rot stopped? I hope so, fingers crossed.

@IanCP

I've never tried Amazon since I am B2B and many years ago I did once check specifically for trade-related books and there were very few. Yep, I realise there's loads of other stuff on there and, believe this or not, I have actually bought from Amazon myself, mostly geeky stuff but also a big screen TV I couldn't find anywhere else.

As a recession reality check, especially for the UK outside of the London area, this last week I landed the largest 2012 UK order for my specialist construction products.

Why is this noteworthy? It made front page headlines of all the construction trade press and even some national newspapers. Just a few years ago this type of project was run-of-the-mill and would barely have received a mention and with the UK construction trade officially 25% down in just one year it's plainly obvious what the UK economy requires.

A little off-topic maybe however I'm fairly sure this is from where most of my retail woes, therefore AdSense reduction, are emanating.

(I *love* the thumbnails in the search. But I'm using it more just for search than expecting any kind of revenue out of it)

Real sawtooth this weekend - Thursday way up, Friday way down, Saturday way up, Sunday way down. Today's already looking good.

I've branched into the world of Facebook and Twitter today - neither appeal to me that much (especially the latter), but as it's a side of social media I haven't yet tried, I figure better late than never.

Past few days have been pretty reasonable - nothing I can grumble about. I'd love to get my traffic levels back up to what they were, but I fear those ads that appear in nice pale yellow boxes at the top of the results, are stealing the limelight. The spirit of Google as an unbiased search engine is but a distant memory, and now it's much more about paid results. Shame.
EPC is still doing well, I'm set to make more than I did in July 2011, so that's encouraging.

As of tonight, I'm relegating Google to one skyscraper ad under the fold and removing analytics. I've already removed Google Search. I'm sick of putting up with their nonsense.

Just had a few clicks come in so earnings today running at 35% of average. Unfortunately, unless there's a miracle, July 2012 will go down as one of the worst months since 2004. Looking forward to August.

Yesterday started strong, then just stopped, ending as the "new" average day. Today is it for July, and no matter how the day ends, this month has been the lowest yet. Please August, be kind.

I have no idea what happened for me yesterday with Canadian traffic however I had a 566.33% increase in page views and a 700% increase in earnings and with Canada being my third biggest earner this was significant.

July has been always among the higher months, but this time it is the lowest since Jan2012.

July is ending like June did - nearly the same revenue.
A summer with a glass revenue ceiling?

CTR is up from 0.8 to 0.9
CPC is down 10%

August is holiday month in the south of Europe.
North is returning home with empty wallets.

Last day of July ended on a downswing, but all in all a very positive month, and no complaints here.
