Will the downwards spiral continue for some of us? Why do the supposed big earners hardly ever post?
Confused? "These questions—and many others—will be answered in this month's episode of...AdSense."

Earnings inched up to about 35% of average today. Guess I should be pleased it's not 10-20% like most of April was. Unfortunately, I have memories (and 1099s) of what AdSense used to be haunting me. :-|

My VERY promising day turned into a very average day. Suppose I shouldn't complain.

The Google dump truck finally did arrive last night and what seemed to be a miserable day ended up being an above-average one. Google's recent reporting MOA makes a good case for NOT refreshing stats a few times a day (or more) but really, who can resist?

Hope that's what's happening today WordsnCollision - if my reports are accurate, I am way, way down on clicks.

Pretty steep decline over all sites since yesterday - ads are ok, traffic is the same. Amazon ads are doing ok as always.
Adsense Engineroom mahem? Engine operators must be drowning in the huge - ever increasing - profits being made.
Have started preps for taking direct ad requests, bypassing Adsense, Commission Junction and what not. First 2 advertisers are already rolling with a fixed monthly deal for impressions.

May has been bleak so far. I'm keeping an eye on the ad networks, and blocking those with impressions but no clicks. I enabled the ad networks in April, after blocking most of them for over a year. I did this just before the big Google algo update, and I think that was a bad choice.
Since doing that, clicks have declined, as has the overall cost of ads displayed on my site. I don't think allowing the networks to compete for ad space has driven up the cost on my site, and it seems like the ads showing aren't as targeted since people aren't clicking on them, which shows a lack of interest.

Seems most of us are in the same boat... Here's to hoping for a gigantic click dump of unprecedented proportions. If not I'm heading for one of my worst days in the past four years.

Can't believe Adsense has the huge earners exposed to all this tinkering in the engineroom.
Would have parked them om a separate server with ole & steady Adsense on it - if i was in their shoes.
First test the engine tinkering on smaller accounts.

I'm with netmeg; since January, a 10% traffic drop has translated into a 60% drop on clicks. This is despite active promotion and
As a result of this, and with Pinterest stealing all my content, I'm stopping to provide free content. Going back to the old model of selling it directly.

Hope that includes April too. It comes in dead last for earnings since 2004. :-(

Yesterday had some sort of recovery, 30% below average with the same traffic.
IMHO Anyone starting of new with Adsense must either be hitting a very lucky niche or have many different sites with a huge amount of traffic - to make anything with the "new" Adsense.
The 2012 Adsense message to new small and modest earners is clear - its a waste of time. The amount of time and energy required to comply with Adsense policies and external threats is better spend on anything else than Adsense.

Just when you think it cannot possibly get any worse, it does...my largest page view url had a 0.07% CTR on Friday...not many fraudulent clicks there eh?
@NomadMan - I completely agree and have thought the same way myself for quite some time. These days my earnings are such that they would not even be considered fair in places such as India etc.
Obviously some companies seem to be sucking mega bucks out of the system with their multi million pages covering every subject under the sun scraped from many of the niche widget sites.
For a while I've been feeling that the WWW is failing many of us badly, it's a business I no longer enjoy as more MBAs enter the workplace armed with only one plan...buy cheap, quality does not matter any more, it can be replaced by another shoddy item.

Yesterday earnings inched up again to about 50% of average. Click count these days is only about 1/10th - 1/15th of what it was in 2009. At this rate, it's going to take a tremendous amount of traffic to get back to what used to be.

Either there is one helluva stats delay today or I have a complete and utter AdSense meltdown to almost zero.
It's interesting that tomorrow is the first anniversary of AdSense halving my earnings overnight, last month's earnings were 34.5% of April 2011.

It would seem to me that AdSense has gone on holiday for ever and ever.
FWIW holiday weekends used to be OK for me, then again lots of things used to be ok, I can even remember the days when people went to the pub during the week!
Now that's a rare sight these days with nearly everyone sat at home watching their big screen tvs and drinking cheap supermarket booze and not having a clue who lives next door.

Nah, watching something far more adult than that... Angie does Adsense (based on the film Debbie does Dallas). In this film Angie works for Google, and she is screwing everyone out of their earnings. Sound familiar ? ;)
