Thought I'd kick off the thread this month just to prove I'm still here ;)

If you were affected, i'm sure you wouldn't be quiet about it either..

All I'm saying is some webmasters have experienced spontaneous sharp drops and increased volatility for no apparent reasons for a long time now, with no explanation, so I wouldn't hold my breath getting one because it's your turn this week. Google simply doesn't do that. We've had an "adsense earnings & observations" monthly thread with concerned webmasters for a good year now.

to be fair netmeg, you dismissed someone's perfectly reasonable suggestion one page back as "silly" and "too silly for words". and then went off talking about hammers and nails. (i'm not sure if i was supposed to be the guy with the hammer... that comment was lost on me).

when you dismiss people's ideas as "too silly for words" -- as if we are idiots for even suggesting it -- then it looks like you are the guy swinging the hammer.

I am officially done with WebmasterWorld. I'm out. This place is too antagonistic and verbally combative. Nothing ever gets resolved. Too many self appointed experts go on the offensive. Membership and participation here has been dropping off and it's easy to see why as everything just turns in to a big shouting match laden with disrespect and inflated egos.

chill bro..

I've been a part of so many forums over the years and it's just the nature of the beast. Their all like this, no matter what. You always have the ones that try to act smarter & know more than the other guy, etc..

I've owned & admin'd a forum for over 5 years as well and it's the same thing. You just gotta hang in there and try your best to go with the flow. Whatever forum you go to next will be the same way. There's always the "look at me, i'm special" stand-out in every forum..

@freedom I hope you will change your mind about making your last post. I do agree with what you say I'm not American but I have cousins who are born Americans who are suffering working 3 jobs to survive.
Sometimes people here forget about their tone when they are making a point but it does not really mean they are becoming trolls.

In regards to Adsense veteran publishers should not be complaining if things were stable or normal.

Yesterday earnings again closed at just about 30% of average. October so far is way under where it was a year ago. Depressing.

Last 7 days, I'm down 30% compared to prior week.

But then again on I'm track to meet or exceed my September 2011 earnings which was my highest in the history of Adsense.

The last 2 weeks of september were insane for me, and I made more money than probably half the month.

What exactly does that mean? It's a joke right?

Unreal. Never seen it so bad so many days in row. :-(

After an awesome September, October is really going a little bad at the moment. The start of the month was full of promise, and now it's nothing but average, or below average days.

It is very weird: I keep getting record high earnings, another excellent day yesterday.
5 of my top 7 record earnings were this month.
My entire top 12 is in the last 10 weeks.

Reading other people's experience, I am sure this will not last :(

question for those with falling earnings: what is the cause of this?
Lower visitors? lower CTR? lower ecpm?

It's not. September was very good for me too, it made more money than a whole month! ;)

same clicks, just very low CPM's. Just 30 to 40% of average.

Just got an email from BurstMedia saying that the Panda update has negatively affected many publishers. How the heck do they know this is all about the Panda update ?

In the past few days I've had record number of clicks, but that hasn't equated to record earnings in any way, shape or form. Today is looking promising however. Still shaping up to be a bad October unless things drastically change in the latter half of the month.

Today's going mental. Still 10 hours left in the day, and my number of clicks currently equates to that of a normal full day. Unless earnings end up revised, have now made more than any other day this month, and still have 10 hours of further earnings to come. Hope it's not invalid clicks (have never suffered this problem during my years with Adsense).

[Edit...] Just done some further investigating. USA and Canada are responsible for giving me my best pay outs, but surprisingly India and Singapore are paying out extremely well. For some reason my site is very popular in India (you should see some of the emails I receive, they always make me smile), but clicks from India have always paid out peanuts. Wonder why there's a sudden big improvement?

Worst day since 2006. The ctr and ecpm are at 25% what i was expecting. (just for reference the number is in the order of thousands). They can't expect me to belive that 3 quarters of my visitors suddenly lost interest in ads. No changes have been made lately.

Pay Bach: x2, terrible day for me, first terrible day since march :( I live in Latin America and at least México, Belice, Guatemala and parts of Honduras and El Salvador are strugling with the weather, seriuos problem, slow and intermitent internet. Depending on the niche 5 countries might be a lot.

@freedom:
another good one wants to go away? I agree with your point. I think there are still great posters here, all the contributions are appreciated. But posting stuff like "I know but I wont tell" is not a contribution, that's what's really silly. I've seen the aggressive behaviour in other threads. Let's keep the good working spirit!.

Slow start compared to last October, but it picked up nicely over the weekend.

There's just no way. I'd have to go back to my very first AdSense days in 2004 to find numbers this low. Ridiculous.

I also got off to a slow start in October, but it ramped back up as of this week. I seem to do poorly on any day that is a holiday in the U.S. My earnings tanked on Rosh Hashanah and both days on either side of it.

I agree with Oakie, the last 3 days of September and the first few days of October were worrisomely slow & sluggish but since then things have really picked up. Like Netmeg, last weekend was surprisingly strong as weekends usually see dips in traffic along with clicks & revs. Knock on wood, Sept 28th's Panda update is looking more like a pussycat :o)

I'm experiencing the opposite of what others are recently reporting. After a good opening 10 days to the month, my CTR suddenly tanked over the last three days. It's very unusual. Ads on my site look the same as before and traffic is holding steady. I don't know what to make of it.
