64.233.163.100 Copra Variant
64.233.185.107 Original Turd
66.102.9.99 Turd Variant
I get the same results on the first three.
Different on Turd variant
Do you think that Copra will propagate to all Google datacenters?

One site, a competitors has been no1 for 4 years and is still no1 for its main term, but doing a search for its allintext: results its gone, is this just the same as the site: command issues google has been having, and the same as homepages disappearing and then reappearing.
The sites in question have not been down due to hosting problems, so wondered why this was happening.
Anyone got any ideas?
I can see google has lots of bugs going on at the moment and constantly shifting results, but this one has puzzled me.
This corresponds with Sandpetra's comment
UK default dcs (some anyway) showing what looks to be the first merging of other dc COPRA data.
The newer Copra data pretty much looks the same untill you do this kind of search.
The other things is the search:
allintext: blue widgets ( vary results )
intext: blue widgets ( same results )
To see it in action you need to do the searches on a group of datacentres that have the same results for a normal search.

Now are Google going to tackle the problem of indexing content again?

Exactly what I am seeing.
My allintext and allinanchor positions are all over the place.
When I use <an online tool> and put the allins in the search field myself I only get a problem with Allintext:search term. I'm #1 on all DCs for allintext except for the following DCs:
64.233.161.107
64.233.161.147
216.239.39.99
66.102.11.99
64.233.161.99
64.233.161.104
216.239.39.104
66.102.11.104
64.233.183.107
66.102.9.107
216.239.39.107
The really worrying thing is that only my page which is at #1 on all of the other DCs is dropped from the DCs above. Why am I being singled out?
For allinanchor I see different text on some of the DCs for the first line but when I go to these individually (with existing cookies in my browser) I see the same text. The text for the first line on the majority for allinanchor is from my DMOZ entry. For the minority it is from my index page title. This is definitely affected by cookies. If I open <an online tool> frame in a new window and then copy the google search URL into a browser with cookies switched off I see my index URL on my regular browser which has cookies from Google on it I see the DMOZ anchor.
Best wishes
Sid
PS If it is important I'm in the UK.

I would say there is more than 2 sets.
But there is definetly one set that doesn't seem to show my index page for an allintext at all.
The other sets have me in different positions for an allintext search.
those DC's have me gone for allintext:
I have noticed before when the rankings have changed, such as when there has been an update in the past, that alot of the titles that do well are shorter condensed versions.
So sites with:
<title>london round blue widgets</title>
suddenly do much better, than sites with:
<title>london round blue widgets, blue round london widgets</title>
this always seems to happen in my experience and levels out after a week usually.
Its odd though isn't it that the sites that consistently hold #1 or #2 positions are the ones that seem to be fragile to certain aspects of the algo.
After Florida our site vanished from the SERPS, not even in the top 1000. It had previously been #1. In mid February after Florida it went back to #1 and stuck there with very minor movements during periods of flux and then Big Daddy came along. We have still been on the top half of page 1 and have now gone back to #1 but what puzzles me, especially with this allintext thing is why. What is there about my index page that makes it susceptible to Google algo changes. I wish I could figure it out so that I could do something about it.
Meanwhile I'll just be thankful for what I've got.
Best wishes
Sid
Traffic basically is cut in half.
I have had our site disappear before and reappear (fairly quickly )when there has been big fluctuations ( it was an update last time ).
I have just seen it happen to a site that has been no1 for 4 years as I have mentioned in a previous post.
I now think that this is a good sign not a bad one, as we have always held our positions or have increased in position, the site that is no1 has not got a high keyword density(its disappearing for allintext queries), maybe to many links with the same link text is possible.
So it could be various things, it could even be a bad sign, tripping a filter, but then still doing better for all other criteria, and your back in.
Good luck
I suppose this is just another minor shift but I do like the results.
Interesting about the DMOZ titles and descriptions. Do you think Google is going back to them or just experimenting with them?
[edited by: tedster at 3:49 am (utc) on June 23, 2006]
It would be helpful if any of us knew how to stop Google using them, as many peoples DMOZ titles are either outdated or just plainly do not represent what the sites title should be, although some of you out there may well have good DMOZ titles.
Something of is interest is that one of my sites nolonger EVER has its DMOZ title showing and replacing it's normal homepage title.
If I knew how I have managed this, it would probably be very useful to many.
