With reference to:

64.233.187.99 Copra
64.233.163.100 Copra Variant
64.233.185.107 Original Turd
66.102.9.99 Turd Variant

I get the same results on the first three.
Different on Turd variant

Do you think that Copra will propagate to all Google datacenters?

''Do you think that Copra will propagate to all Google datacenters?''

Looks like it's on it's way as all bar about 6 are showing Copra.

These things have a tendancy to reverse all of a sudden. I like it, but I don't believe it until I've seen it in place for many weeks.

All the Best

discobuscuit

In the search results click cache and see what DC is listed in the address bar.

I'm still getting UK default turd too - it's on the last datacentres to update.

Hi

My default Dc at home was the turd results which was dc - 66.102.9.104

But the one at the office is the copra results along with 49 other DCs hopefully should see them all showing very soon.

Hi Petehols!

I have a similar experience: copra results at office and turd at home.....

I prefer the turd results, but I note that turd shows less results ( 10 % less ): maybe it is not so fresh or maybe it filters better spammers.....

Hi All

This is a strange one. My default google here is 64.233.161.104 now when type in google.co.uk that is the DC that feeds these results. Now if i do a search for my keywords they show up no.7 and no.6 and no.8 for 3 different terms. Now when I look at that same DC in <an online tool> they show up no.7 and no.15 and no.12

How can this be right? Any ideas?

Pete

Hi Petehols!

I think that <online tool> depends on your local IP

Have a look at your Ie bar address when searching on Google: if you see the code

&hl=en

Probably you have a default code that is your country... rankings change a lot if you replace ( edit ) your country code with en

Not for all the sites but for some sites results are very different.

I am curious about that code: what does hl mean?
high location? hold location? hosted location?

When you folks relate to a DC being 'turd', how do you equate that? Is it for your own particular speciality, or across the board.

One of my sites is UK ECommerce, and I can't see anything wrong with the results.

My default DC is the one just mentioned, and it seems fine. What's more, my traffic has almost doubled recently, most of which has come from Google.

Please note that I can only talk from a personal perspective, as I don't have the time to constantly monitor DC's or different topics for search results.

Still nothing on a lot of UK DCs.

My Google IP is 216.239.59.147 and is serving the 'Turd' set.

He he - UK v Sweden.

Reseller - you are acting like an American (as in US part - Sorry Canada,Mexico etc - I just did the same thing).

England v Sweden.

We may aswell call it UK v Scandinavia :)

Colin

I agree - it looks like it will still be a while off - although some mornings I still hope that it fixed itself overnight.

At the moment it just seems that Google are still working/testing on the Big Daddy Infastructure before a real update takes place......

Dayo & Colin

I have just read that our good friend Michael Owen was examined this morning and was sent on a long 5 months vacation. Which reminds me of the long vacations of Google employees. Just wonder how those rich americans can afford a 6 weeks vacation :-)

As to BigDaddy I wouldn't expect any reasonable serps before August. I recall Matt mentioning that they are going to spend the summer working on the new infrastructure. So relax..wait..and see is the name of this summer game.

Hi,

It looks like they have all changed to something very close to Copra but looking a bit more closely there is some variability between the reported DCs <with an online tool>.

I'm at #1 on them all for the biggest $ term in our niche so I think its time for the beer, though why I would want to celebrate getting something back that I've had for the previous four BBD (before Big Daddy) years I'm not sure.

I did fall out of the index post Florida having been at #1 for a couple of years but after going back in at #1 I'd maintained it since.

I'm trying to figure out what I do with my site that makes it susceptible to Googles playing with new algos.

Meanwhile I'm going to make hay while the sun shines for tommorrow it will probably piss it down, metaphorically.

Keeping the pint glasses dry in Canada for now - bouncing around like a steroidal Goball on goggle.com. Pure Copra, then Turd, then a Copra variant - all in under 10 minutes.

UK is still on Turd is it not?

As been noted earlier, a lot more DCs than on <an online tool>. Insert Telescope & Hidden DCs/Dark Matter analogy.

Happy to be told I'm wrong and being paranoid

Am I correct that all Google DataCentre IPs are in just these blocks?

64.233.x.x

66.102.x.x

66.249.x.x

72.14.x.x

216.239.x.x

Are there any others at all?

64.233.183.104 my UK default most of today and showing Copra.

In one particular niche I had nearly given up on with Google, Copra shows without question the top authority sites in the top positions (deservedly so) with some under 2 year old domains including mine sitting on page 2 for various keywords. This is something I have not seen before since I started with this project 18 months ago.

It gives you a lift to think you have something worth working with now rather then ranking in no man's land.
