I have a few terms left in google that rank well, I wanted to find out why they still ranked well. Here is my conclusion so far,
using a site:#*$!x (keyword here), I search for keywords that used to ranked well in google.
Some keywords pull up as much as 15,000 pages, some 11,000+
For keywords on MY site that was UNDER 400 result or so (not a few thousand), the results REMAINED in Google ranking, top 10 or so.
For internal searches on keywords with more than a few hundred, it dropped off the chart.
I think I am being penalized for heavy internal linking or keyword usage on my pages, but I am not sure how to overcome this since I have a large site and I am using product titles to navigate
for example
home : department : Product a:
product b
product c
product d
and product b would be
home : Department : Product B
product c
product d
Now if you multiply this by a couple thousand products, you can see why there will be a lot of links to any particular keyword and I think I am being penalized for it.
IS google tell us to kill good navigation to get ranked
Basically, all the pages will be
home : Department
Product (x)
and NOTHING ELSE
I guess they are trying to get rid of affiliate farms, but legitimate sites are getting penalized.

On January the 25th I have bookmarked 15 pages from my site right after Googlebot read them. Just to track what exactly will happen. All of these pages have been supplemental before with cachedates from around January 3th.
Yesterday, around 10 of them had a new cachedate (25th) and have made it out from the supplemental index. Today, all of them have the old cachedates and are marked as supplemental again.
Don't like...

A little tip "NEVER CHANGE YOUR SITE IN A UPDATE"
Yes, I am joking to make myself feel better.
I know Google doesnt owe me anything, but as you said , without us, there would be no Google poewr, too.
And, when our friend use us to earn nice money, and then cut it down 80 % it hurts badly.
But its sunny today in Sarajevo, afer few days of snow, so lets be happy :
PS. How do you quote my message, I cant find a way to do that on this forum?

Put in between [ quote ] [ /quote ] and omit the spaces

Depends on he corporate line imo. If you do no evil and then deploy search engines in China fighting free speech and play with millions of webmasters minds every single day, mostly make your money by using other poples hard work and then don't pay while other people classify your pictures, intend to pull eveything that has been written and is out of copyright and scan it in, while your supposedly on this noble mission to fight spam, the odd critical eye has to be raised.
The annoying bit is the pretense of holiness .. I have not read yet as bad attacks on yahoo, as they seem t be just a company and don't employ knights in shining armour battling to rid the world of evil .. :)
In reality they just seem to be as ordinary as everybody else .. trying to make a buck or a billion ...
Yeayyyyhhh....
Hope it'll last for a while :)

I wouldn't call it "they keep chopping off his website every now and then".
In the spirit of Matt Cutts Ever Data Refreshes, more accurately to call it:
"they keep refreshing his website every now and then" :-)

Especially when they refresh it from page 1 to page 75 :)
Well, two months now... Come on, wake up Google, wake up!
Since they switched since 2 months on some daily update scheme, that might be it.. Everflux they named it like that and that's what is happening. Others would call it everchaos, but that might be just cynical.. :)
Or does no one remember the everflux comments when Big Diddy was installed?
So prepare for building domino chains (aka your business) while a RS 8 earthquake is permanently switched on .. Google is pulling the rug under your feet and shaking it wildly.
I hope this time will last at least 6 hours :)
I have made some changes to this sites. I had a text that was sitewide placed, but few days ago, I made it to be only on homepage.
Has this helped anything or not, question is now! :)
Most people are waiting but I didn't but I think whatever happened a month ago or so, is what shows up right now, so the reason you see changes now is not because you stepped on the lid to the man-hole this morning :)
I was looking at a top 5 destination "city widgets" search. In the top ten there are pages at 79kb, 184kb, 93kb, 109kb, 210kb and 68 kb. And those larger pages are just a bunch of deeper links. I think we need a new guide.
