The same down-and-on problem here in Turkey.
But j3 goes on and off. No steady results. At least three different sets:
216.239.63.104 (I think with additional tweaks)
64.233.161.104 (still J2)
64.233.179.104 (J3)
It's been 10 months and 10 days since my listings went south and today is the first day of full recovery. Homepage is again ranking tops in double listing results.
Company name (dmoz title) and homepage title bring back home page #1 as of today.
I believe the reason for the turnaround is a constant battle to get rid of some dup content and kill www/non-www pages. Home page stills shows both www and non-www but appears that bad effects have been eliminated.
I also reduced potential over optimization of keywords and reduced internal nav links on all pages.
Thanks to all and to all a good night.
Joe, I believe we’ve instituted some more intuitive results for site: queries within the last few weeks. The test data center will be where most of the progress on 301s/canonicalization takes place.

Looking at the top ten results for my trading name I see that there are 3 strong legitamate local government and institution links (non swap / non payment), 3 directories that do nothing but list my meta details and hold no other information (Sites that are unable to write their own content), A google directory link and the rest are text crammers that have used hundreds of occurances of my web address and trading name (these 3 look like they came from the same webwaster).
So as you can see I'm not too up about this test dc ;-)
All the best for the day to all you non-spammers

Hi Folks
We have been talking about update Jagger and then the test DC for sometime. All kind of problems are discussed, but not the poor serps of Google.
If a search engine deliver, especially at top 10 of its serps, irrelevant sites of all kinds but not the sites the searcher expect to find, such search engine would be for sure considered a poor one. Its about time that we should start looking at that side of Google too.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not anti-Google at all. But I'm just speaking my mind.
Jagger update hadn't resolved the problems that our kind fellow members GG & Matt had declared. Canonical, supplemental and 301/302 problems are still there. Unfortunately, instead of solving the said problems that affected our webmasters community, Matt is keeping his talk and expectations. With all due respect, Matt present talk sounds like shadow chasing. You see it but can't catch it no matter how hard you tried.
This great community has been reading and hearing empty promisses for more than a year. The folks at the plex should'nt make the mistake of underestimating our intelligence!
God bless WebmasterWorld community.

Yes, I do feel this has happened. They cleary underestimate the intelligence of the Webmaster community and there is evidence that they underestimate the intelligence of the searching community too.
>>>At least the test DC has fixed the missing homepages for a few sites I know... homepages who misteriously disapeared during the J update.
Yes, this is one of the only encouraging things to come out of the recent fiasco - Google can crawl homepages occassionaly - this has included the return of homepages missing from well before J started.
But as they dont rank even for their own unique company name then perhaps this is pointless development too.
The optimistic side of me would say that maybe more 302/301 redirects are being correctly followed - the pesimistic side of me says that the damage to the sites is beyond recovery.
>>Note how important we are. We are ignored. And what are we going to do about it? <<
Sorry if you feel ignored.
But for the rest of us, we are not going to be ignored more than we wish us to be.
There are around 100.000 webmasters fellow members in this community. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong on this one.
Imagine our power if we start ignoring Google folks on forums and in real life in connection to meetings and conferences! Who is gonna talk to them. Are they going to talk to themselves?
And how about 100.000 webmasters start talking in public about the current poor serps of Google?
Having said that, I still believe that co-operation is much better than going against Google.
Some people here always say that the test DC is full of old pages and does not have any updated pages. It might be true from your end, but I can tell you that google as included my site in this test DC with all new pages that were put op online just two weeks ago.
So if they are using old data, I think they are using new data also as well,
Good day,
Yes, it does have recent data - it has some very old data too.....
I guess the thing we can tell from MC blog entry is that as the DC will not really be in full use until the new year then the data we see at the moment will probably be very much different from the data seen in a month or so time.
Oh well - I will enjoy Christmas as much as I can and then have a good hard think.
