The same down-and-on problem here in Turkey.
But j3 goes on and off. No steady results. At least three different sets:

216.239.63.104 (I think with additional tweaks)
64.233.161.104 (still J2)
64.233.179.104 (J3)

I can concur with the above, the test DC is no longer showing anything differently - is it time to say good bye to those great (well for me anyway) results for good?

Folks

Welcome back to the real world of everchanging everfluxing Google!

Back to our defaults google.com, in my case 66.249.93.104

Now we can start make "some changes" to our sites.

Those of you who are doing well on your default google.com. Congrats.

To the rest; better luck next time.

And to all of you:

Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year 2006 :-)

I don't.

But life must go on and if we wish things to change, we must change ourselves including our websites :-)

Morning all :]

So it's all been going off again while I sleep. I'm not too bothered to see the back of the last test dc, as I kept getting emails about a message board that ceased to be on my site about 9 months ago. It seems that google had listed 500 supplimental pages from it and I had enquiries from all over the world complaining that my server was down :-O

I could understand this happening if the pages were ever picked up at the time, but the message board got shut down after a few days because of the damn spammers leaving viagra ads all over it. I don't remember ever getting hits from google at the time, just msn & ask.

I'm at a loss. To anyone who doubts the justification behind keeping this saga thread open ... I think there is an awful lot to find out still & not a great deal known yet :-(

All the best for today

Col :-)

Change is good. Don't change your websites, though. Change your business model to rely less on Google traffic.

Also here from switzerland I can tell you guys that the test DC and google.com don't have the same results for us...

It's funny because on the test DC I have some good results for popular keywords, but haven't received any traffic from google yet.

I count believe when people said that these results where onine all day in the us!

well,

this is not over if you ask me

Yep, all changed back overnight for me too, in Cent.Am.

64.233.179.104 appears to me to have the same "test" results, but it is no longer my default google.com

fourchette - I agree with you - if those results were online in the US yesterday, I did not see any traffic increase from it either.

64.233.179.104 returns an extra 14 million sites above the 9 million that come up in the serps at present. And bear in mind my names Colin (Not very popular here in UK) ... ;-)

FFS - this is now beyond belief.

Google are messing around! And still they have not fixed the 301/302/Canonical/Supplimental/Hijack/Root page problems.

Unbelievable!

Really stressed out with it tonight. MC says he might ask for feedback on a DC and then says nothing else - as if he never even said it.

Unbelievable!

Really dont know what Google are trying to play at......but it is a complete and utter mess.

I really dont know what I have done in a previous life to recieve such contempt - ask Google a question - flippin ignored as if I dont exsist.

All IMO of course.

Long live Yahoo, MSN, Gigablast etc.

Down with Google!

Sorry - stressed - this really is not good for my health. :(

Several datacentres have an older index in them.

If you're going to make statements like that please clarify which DC you are seeing it on.

Why they keep that thread open yet? It must be a reason >>>>>>MC-GG watching for feedback?

Hey Dayo,

I understand completely. I'm sure in the future that they will coin the phrase 'google anxiety' & 'google rage'.

At least Norwich got a win yesterday ;-)

Cheers & all the best

Talking earlier in this thread about how as soon as google dumped my main site, it suddenly picked up on other search engines. Checking over todays stats and I've noticed a huge jump ask.com feeds.

I never used to get more than about 20 visits per week from Ask and today I picked up 80+ solid keyphrases, supplying 120 visitors ...

>> MC-GG watching for feedback?

Going through 10000 posts (between all the jagger threads) to look for that good one or two is not that efficent :)

Dayo_UK -

I count myself among many, I'm sure, that do feel badly for your situation. I've heard all the "know-it-alls" saying that's our own fault. But I know better. These search engines are sophisticated yet very limited in their abilities.

To think that I have to worry if my disclaimer at the bottom of a page is causing a duplicate content penalty is nonsense. The website appears in at least three directories that require manual review. It's even been referenced on National Public Radio. But I've got some kind of penalty being applied to the site right now.

I don't rely on my website to pay the bills; still I spend a tremendous amount of time writing articles - more than 850 at last count over nearly two years.

It is very discouraging to realize that no matter how hard we work on our websites we are but very small fish in a huge ocean.

Wow:

Haven't posted in a while, can't believe people haven't seen the light yet, G__gle is broken, is it on purpose or by accident is the question? IMO bad results = Better ADWORDS revenue!

Will results return to normal after first of year?

I'm sure Adwords generates the most income around the holidays, I don't think they can survive with such poor results for very long! IMO
