Actually if you are paying for Urchin you got an email saying we won't charge you anymore, check out Google Analytics.

Pretty neat to get an email from a company saying that we'll now give away what you were paying $2500 a year for.

Giving google access to that much information sure strikes me as odd. Hmm...it is free.

Yes, its a scary thought, Google having a copy of your site's logdata.

However, they already have a lot of toolbar data and they can buy any Hitwise type of surf habit info they want.

Also, if you already do Adsense and Adwords, will it really make that much of a difference?

Can someone more awake than I please explain this to me? In the Term of Service, I see this:

Personal Use Only
The Google Services are made available for your personal, non-commercial use only. You may not use the Google Services to sell a product or service, or to increase traffic to your Web site for commercial reasons, such as advertising sales. You may not take the results from a Google search and reformat and display them, or mirror the Google home page or results pages on your Web site. You may not "meta-search" Google. If you want to make commercial use of the Google Services, you must enter into an agreement with Google to do so in advance.

My website sells a product that I develop. I'd be using the Analytics to better track my viewers. This counts as commercial use, right? So I and anyone else in similar circumstances can't use this service.

I hope I'm missing something here, but that's what the TOS seems to say.

I was paying Urchin for monthly and now they say it is free. That is awesome. They definitely need to make some improvements in how the reporting is done. It is tedious to go in and check the same reports over and over. It should be much easier to have "memorized" reports that will display in a control panel. But overall, I like Urchin and it looks like they are making some improvements.

One complaint I have is that I have logged in to Google Analytics this morning and am not able to pull up any reports (it does not have any dates for me to select). It is also taking an extremely long time to pull up any pages. I assume this is a temporary problem; they must have been in a rush to roll it out before PubCon.

Got my code and inserted it :\ .. maintenance again but seems to be failsafe luckily :)

I wonder if you can check someone elses data :\ I have a friend that does not know much about computer stuff and I used to do his sitemap generations etc.

Anyone know if I can login from elsewhere. He is in Germany and I am in the UK. It used to work w/o problems but the last time I got a picture login screen.

There must be surely ways for you and your customers to use the same account.

I assume as long as there is no minimum monthly charge for an Adwords account this free tracking is great. Must assume, however, that down the road there will be a minium charge associated with this type of service. Even so, if minimum spending is $50 or less a month for Adwords this would still be a great addition.
