If you pay $200/mo for Urchin now, you may want to reconsider.

their servers may be really busy from people signing up. I’ll ask
My hypoteses:
a) the Google Analytics team grossly underestimated the response to the new service (a Google Earth déja vu) and are now busy buying new servers and load balancers;
b) something went horribly wrong during the lunchtime launch;
c) Google Analytics is working perfectly, it's just that our web sites haven't been making any traffic at all in the last 24 hours (D'OH!).
Also from Matt's blog, about the TOS dilemma:
I’ll ask about your question too. Since they allow/encourage people to use it on sites where owners are buying AdWords, I don’t think that they mean that commercial sites can’t use this for tracking.
GoogleGuy and/or Matt, please keep us posted on the above. ;)
When you really look at the information, my question was "just how are they going to get webmasters to give up some of this information?" And then voila! Google Analytics. Hmmm, that is the Google modus operandum give something great away for free and take something in return but -- something that is not totally apparent to the giver.
We have been testing Google Analytics and find it very buggy at this point. Many broken links in the help bar and no stats after over nearly 24 hours. We love Urchin, but this tool is another beast altogether. Google Analytics we feel should have been labelled beta. Don't waste your time on it for a few days.

It sounds like an innovative idea, but what on earth are they going to do if more than one person uses a computer? I have the unpleasant feeling that Google is about to become useless for me as a search engine, as it attempts to merge one person's extremely frequent obscure historical searches with another person's up-to-date tech and news searches with our kids' homework searches. Oh dear.
Maybe I should start making my husband use Yahoo, and the kids use MSN. Then we can all continue on our merry way.
Google's plan is similar.
Also, but I'm sorry folks, but I'm not handing over my cost/profit data to the publisher or anyone else. My stats are my stats.
Just a little question, i'm just having a little play with this Analytics
Most of the help pages are 'not available' 404'ing at the moment BTW ;)
Has anyone tried using the G Analytics code from
www.foo.com on www.bar.com?
And has any one used the code for a www.foo.com on a www.sub.foo.com domain?
Cheers all,
Matt Said:
"It’s free. Technically it’s free for sites with 5 million pageviews/month or less. If you have more than 5M pageviews, you need to sign up for an AdWords account, but it sounds like there’s no minimum spend once you sign up. In other words, it’s free."
